🌿✨ Meet the Monstera! Here are five fascinating facts about one of the most beloved houseplants: Nature’s Artwork: Those iconic leaves with unique holes, called fenestrations, aren’t just beautiful—they help Monsteras handle heavy rain and wind in their native jungle environments by letting air and light pass through. Tropical Origins: Originating from the dense tropical forests of Central and South America, Monsteras are natural climbers that love to scale up trees using their aerial roots. Breath of Fresh Air: Adding a Monstera to your space does more than just beautify—it purifies! These green giants work hard to scrub common toxins like formaldehyde from the air. Rapid Growth: Given the right mix of humidity and warmth, these plants can shoot up quickly, often needing a bigger pot every couple of years to keep up with their growth. Whether you're a seasoned plant parent or just starting your indoor jungle, a Monstera makes a perfect green companion. #monstera #monsteraplant #PlantParenting #GreenThumbTips #HouseplantCare #silverthorne #silverthorneco #plantcare #plantlover #plantcare #plantparent #greenthumb #plantsofinstagram #indoorgardening

Look at that beautiful curl! So after that opened up I decided to use some leaf shine on the other leaves so they would look as shiny as the new one. Of course wiping your leaves on occasion will help your plants be healthier. That dust will block the plants ability to absorb the sunlight. So clean them up plant friends. #plantcare #planttips #monsteraplant #houseplants #plantcollection #tropical #leaves #plantmom #plantlife #plantsmakepeoplehappy #waterplants #plants #livingwithplants #pottedplants #houseplantcare #plantsarefriends

🌿 Snake Plant Care Guide 🌿 Hey plant enthusiasts! 🌱 Looking for a stylish and low-maintenance plant to add to your collection? Say hello to the Snake Plant (Sansevieria trifasciata), also known as Mother-in-Law's Tongue! 🐍✨ Here's how to keep your Snake Plant in top shape: Light: 🌞 Snake Plants are super versatile! They thrive in bright, indirect light but can also handle low light conditions. Perfect for any room! Water: 💧 Less is more with these guys. Let the soil dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering is a big no-no – they prefer dry conditions. Humidity: 💦 Snake Plants are tough and can handle low humidity. No special treatment needed here! Temperature: 🌡️ They love it warm! Keep them in an environment between 70-90°F. They're quite tolerant but avoid freezing temperatures. Feeding: 🌿 Feed your Snake Plant with a mild cactus fertilizer or a balanced houseplant fertilizer diluted to half strength. Do this once a month during the growing season (spring and summer). Repotting: 🪴 These plants grow slowly and prefer being a bit root-bound. Repot every 2-3 years or when the roots start to crack the pot. Propagation: 🌱 Super easy! You can propagate Snake Plants by dividing the rhizomes or by leaf cuttings. Just cut a healthy leaf, let it dry for a day, and plant it in soil. Fun Fact: Snake Plants are known for their air-purifying abilities! They absorb toxins and release oxygen, making your home fresher and healthier. 🍃 Happy growing! 🌿💚 #SnakePlant #HouseplantCare #GreenThumb #IndoorGarden #PlantLover

#crassula #crassulaovata #geldbaum #crassulaovatavariegata #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantlady #platsofinstagram #plantsmate #pflanzenverrückt #plantcollection #plants #plantlover #plantcommunity #plantstagram #crazyplantlady #instaplants #livingwithplants #rareplants #urbanjungle #urbangreen #zeigdeineblumen #pflanzenliebe #zeigwasduliebst #greenthumb #houseplants #houseplantcare #zimmerpflanzen #homejungle #greenhome #pfennigbaum

Indoor plant spa day! How often do you bathe your beauties? Giving your houseplants a spa day is a great way to revive them and show them some love. Here’s a quick rundown of what you can do: * Leaf cleaning: Dust can accumulate on leaves, blocking sunlight. Wipe them gently with a damp cloth to improve their ability to photosynthesize. * Shower time: Give your plants a lukewarm shower to remove dust and pests. Shield the soil with plastic to prevent erosion. *This is also a good time to check for pests. If you find something treat it and think about how you will handle this pest, many times it’s multiple treatments. Remember it’s a matter of when not if! Be proactive 🌿 * Pot check: Ensure the pot drains well and isn’t restricting the roots. Repot if necessary in a pot that’s slightly larger. * Trim time: Remove any dead, diseased, or yellowing leaves to encourage new growth. * Relax and unwind: After their spa day, place your plants back in their designated spots and enjoy the refreshed look! #plantspaday #showeryourplantswithlove #houseplantsofinstagram #houseplantcare #pnwgarden #pnwgardening

Here's how to save that overwatered plant 💦 Plants actually need oxygen to survive. And if the roots get saturated they actually cannot provide the plant with water!! You may then think it needs water and give it MORE water. But don't worry, here's what you can do to help an overwatered plant: Take the plant out the pot and look at the roots If they look brown and are starting to go mushy and the compost is absolutely soaking, then cut away the soggy roots and give it a rinse getting rid of any saturated soil. Now repot the plant in some fresh compost. Give the original plant pot a clean first. Water the new soil as normal. James Wong recommends using a dilute cold camomile tea as it has antifungal chemicals in!!! For the majority of indoor plants, before you water again, stick a finger into the soil up to the second knuckle. If it's moist, DON'T WATER. If it's dry, its time to water. Have you ever overwatered your plant? #houseplanttips #houseplantcare #houseplantlover #thegreeneastni

🌱 Repotting 101 🏡 Is your houseplant feeling a bit cramped in its current pot? It might be time for a change! Here's your guide to successful repotting: 1. Timing is Everything: Keep an eye out for signs that your plant is outgrowing its pot, like roots poking out of the drainage holes or soil drying out too quickly. Spring is often the best time to repot, giving plants a fresh start for the growing season. 2. Choose the Right Pot: Opt for a pot that's 1-2 inches larger in diameter than the current one, with proper drainage holes to prevent waterlogging. Terra cotta pots are great for plants that like their soil to dry out between waterings, while plastic or ceramic pots retain moisture better. 3. Prepare the Plant: Gently remove the plant from its current pot, being careful not to damage the roots. If the roots are tightly bound, gently tease them apart to encourage healthy growth in the new pot. 4. Fresh Soil, Fresh Start: Use a high-quality potting mix suited to your plant's needs. For succulents and cacti, opt for a well-draining mix designed specifically for arid plants, while orchids thrive in a specialized orchid mix that provides ample airflow to the roots. 5. Handle with Care: After repotting, give your plant a good drink to help settle the soil and hydrate the roots. Place it in a spot with appropriate light and temperature conditions, and avoid fertilizing for a few weeks to allow the plant to adjust. With a little TLC and a new home, your houseplant will have plenty of room to spread its roots and thrive! 🌿🏠 #RepottingGuide #HouseplantCare #GreenThumb

Monstera Deliciosa refresh! Here's the after and the before (Swipe right!) She came to me with thrips + thrips damage on the leaves so she went through pest treatment, repot and needed micromanaging for a couple of weeks. She is thripless today, but shared with the client on how to monitor for thrips for ongoing maintenance as thrips are relentless and do come back once in awhile if left unattended. Thrips are a pretty damaging pest, but there is still hope for recovery if you are willing to try. For more on Integrated Pest Management, check out my link in bio to book time with me. ﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌⠀ 𝟗𝐗 𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐄𝐍 - 𝘖𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Ad: 479/38 Phan Văn Trị, P5, Gò Vấp, HCM⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Hotline: 0905 187 357⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Insta & Tiktok: @‌9xgarden⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Website: https://9xgarden.com⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ———————————— #opentonature #indoorplants #indoorplanters #indoorplantsofinstagram #houseplants #houseplantslover #houseplantcare #houseplantclub #plants #plantcare #plantlife #plantstagram #plantsofinstagram #cây #cayphongthuy #caycanhdep #caycanhmini #caycanhdeban #caycanhphongthuy #caycanh #chamsoccay #tuoicay

If you just brought home a cute new plant…don’t repot it yet!! Houseplants can actually stay in their grow pots until they’ve outgrown their planter. You’ll know it’s time to repot when you see roots taking over the pot and growing out of the drainage hole. You may also notice you’re having to water more than normal. If this was helpful make sure to save and share it with your plant bestie! Once you are ready to repot, I’ve put together a list with a few of my favorite planters in all sizes! Foto's: @aline.bouma 🇬🇧English If you can do one thing for your houseplants this weekend, let it be cleaning your leaves. Okay, besides watering of course! I don't know about you, but I often forget about it until I notice a gray haze covering the leaves again. Dust blocks sunlight and, let's face it, your plant doesn't look very nice either. You can find cleaning tips (in Dutch) in the link in bio, click on this photo there. These silly gloves are not yet in the article, but I can definitely recommend them. Available at just about any garden center I believe. Make sure that your plant does not have any bugs, otherwise you will accidentally help them take over all your plants. Photos: @aline.bouma

You might not have heard of them, but you've probably seen them: fungus gnats look a lot like fruit flies and breed in the moist soil of houseplants. 🪴 The good news is that they won’t damage established plants (they can spell trouble for seedlings and cuttings) but they are a nuisance – and once they've made themselves at home, you'll be swatting them away at every turn. Luckily, there are simple ways to deal with them. Tap the link in our bio for everything you need to know. Image: Getty #fungusgnats #houseplants #houseplantcare

🟢🌿🟢 My instagram page has only reached this level of success because of people like you, who take a few minutes out of their day to tap that little heart button, leave comments, and save my posts to albums that you can refer back to later if needed. If you've been here for a while, you already know that I don't kiss the algorithm's ass by posting non-stop reels. I post what I want, when I want, how I want. I don't pay instagram to "boost" my posts, and I NEVER WILL, because decreasing a person's online presence and then forcing them to pay your company money in order to get that presence BACK...is a shady, disgusting business model. I'm also not a popular "influencer" who feeds my audience trendy, sugar-coated garbage, just for the sake of "creating content". I teach actual, factual, no-nonsense, college-level horticulture practices, that are GUARANTEED to help people become successful at growing plants. If that's not what the algorithm likes... ...well....too bad. My goal here isn't to gain "followers" and become some popular online celebrity. My goal is to reach as many people as possible, because I KNOW there's hundreds of millions of people out there who are looking for this kind of information. So in short, I want to give a massive THANK YOU to all the people out there who show a little love when they see my posts. This page is successful, because of you. Head over to my main page when you have some time, and scroll down it a bit to see how many posts the algorithm hasn't shown you. It's all valueable information, just sitting there waiting to be read. I can't force you to read it, I can only point you in that direction and hope that you do. (Don't forget my 20+ topic-related highlighted stories that contain hundreds of posts and web links to college and university web pages about those particular topics) Thanks everyone, have a great day! -Nick #Horticulture #HouseplantCare #HouseplantHelp #Hoya #Philodendron #Monstera #Pothos #Tradescantia #Dracaena #Sansevieria #Orchid #Ficus #Maranta #Calathea #Schefflera #Begonia #Zamioculcas #Succulents #Cacti

Now that our nighttime temps are consistently above 50 degrees it’s safe to move your indoor plants outside. Ensure a smooth transition by slowly acclimating them to being outdoors to avoid scorching the leaves. Start by placing them in a shaded, sheltered area for a few hours each day, gradually increasing their exposure to sunlight over 1-2 weeks. Plants will benefit from the increased sunlight, humidity and airflow and will reward you with an explosion of new growth! Image: Indoor Gardening, Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, 1988

Even though they may seem quiet, plants are actually great communicators. 🌵 @plantamaven IG 🌿 📡 They will tell you what they need as long as you can read the leaves. Here are some common signs your plant needs a little TLC: 1️⃣ Brown, crunchy leaves: Your plant may need more water or more humidity. 2️⃣ Yellow at the edges: You may be overwatering your plant. Make sure you wait until the soil 1-2 inches deep is fully dry between watering. 3️⃣ Pale and limp, or leaning to the side: Your plant needs more sun. Relocate the pot to a window with bright, indirect light. 4️⃣ Burnt top of leaves: Your plant is getting a sunburn and could use a little more shade (at least until they start making sunscreen for plants 😎). #Plants #PlantCare #HouseplantCare #PlantCareGuide #PlantLeaves #Houseplants #GardeningTips #IndoorGardening #Hacks #IndoorJungle #PlantTips #FastGrowing

It is the fourth week of May and this week we are focused on—SPRING PLANT CARE WHY? Spring is when plants grow the most so this week we are checking in on our houseplants to make sure: • They are pruned for ultimate spring growth • They have fresh and fluffy soil • They are dusted for optimal sun and oxygen absorption We have been doing these tasks a little each week so this week is just checking in. WHAT ELSE WE ARE WORKING ON We have been adding new low maintenance houseplants to the site! We purposefully only grow low maintenance plants so that we can take breaks from plant care when we need or want to. Studies have shown that plants help improve our mental heath and that can be amplified when you purposefully take time to care for and appreciate them. We hope you enjoy your plants this weekend! xo, Seana #plantcare #plantcaretips #plantcareisselfcare #plantsmakemehappy #plantcare101 #plantcareguide #happyplants #houseplantsmakemehappy #houseplantcare #houseplantcaretips

Coming back from plant care clients today, driving in heavy traffic reminded me of how we acquire patience (and how we maintain it). What makes you calm and collected? Nature can be our biggest teacher. #patience #natureteaches #quoteoftheday #naturecan #plantbusiness #houseplantcare #zenwisdom

🌞🌿 How much light intensity are these ZZ divisions getting? Well first, know that 10,000 fc (footcandles) is the baseline for "full sun". For those of you who take the time to research my page and read my posts, you already know this, because I've mentioned it multiple times, in multiple posts in my "Light", "Light Meters", and "Grow Lights" highlighted stories. The light meter is reading 400 x10 (photo 2) 400 x 10 = what percent of full sun? Correct... far more than your ZZ plants are getting at home when they sit in "bright indirect light" all day. 😋 If you want healthy plants, the first step is giving them enough light, however, that involves knowing how bright "full sun" is... followed by the amount of light that a certain plant gets when it's growing out in nature. Most people on social media, hear from their "plant guru's" and "plant doctors and nurses", that plants like ZZ's prefer "bright indirect light". You can bet that if a person is saying that, they've never used a light meter to actually MEASURE "bright indirect light". If they HAD, they certainly wouldn't include the word "bright" in there. (I've also made a post about that as well, and I've already told you where you can find it) (..also in that post, I show how bright indirect light is usually only around 2-4% of full sun.. so compare that to the math you did up above in regards to 400 x 10 = ?%) Huge difference, right? It IS true, that they can acclimate down to low light levels. They're a low light TOLERANT plant. (but they certainly dont PREFER it) Notice how close together those leaflets are in these photos? That's what a ZZ looks like when it's getting a healthy amount of light. It's not having to create elongated cells in the attempt to reach a brighter light source. Are your ZZ leaves close together, or spaced far apart? If they're spaced far apart... it's showing you that it needs brighter light. Questions? Concerns? #ZZPlant #Zamioculas #PlantCare #PlantHelp #Houseplants #PlantNerd #PlantDoctor (an actual one)

Strelitzia Nicolai grow best in environments with bright, indirect light. They do best with increased humidity but can cope in normal household conditions. Increase the surrounding humidity in winter because of dry air from central heating or log burners. Keep it moist in growing season but less in winter. #strelitzia #strelizianicolai #houseplants #houseplantcare #houseplanttips #houseplantcommunity #houseplants #alinafloristthirsk #alinafloristthirsk💕thanks #alinafloristthirsk #keepitlocalthirsk #thirskflorist #everything #thirsk #everythingthirsk
