A lot of people don't like using macrame hangers because it's hard to remove the pots for watering, but I just keep drip trays under each pot & water them in place. #plantloverschallenge day 27...down to earth. I repotted this Cissus the other day, and I've never seen so much terra cotta in the soil! It was all in the middle of the rootball, so last time it was repotted, they must've left what was in the bottom, and put it in a bigger pot, and it kept growing around all those pieces. I got this through a local FB sale 3 yrs ago, along with some other plants that belonged to an elderly master gardner, who could no longer care for them (I feel honored to care for these heirlooms). So I have no idea how long it was in that pot, but it had great drainage! I think the Whalefins alone are worth that. It had a Mandeville in there, which isn't a succulent, and was already drying up. I added some things to pots I already had (like the Whalefin from @newyennning and the climbing Aloe from @lukestagram94). #plantloverschallenge day 24...reuse and recycle. After Herman's tumble the other night, I felt like Goldie Locks trying to find a pot to fit him in...too short, too narrow, or both. I finally found a big enough one in the garage. I don't particularly like it, but I can't afford to buy one right now, and it was the only one I had big enough, and I reused it. Herman has 2 poles now! The new one I made from an old tension rod I also found in the garage, and wrapped it in coco fiber basket liners I had leftover from his 1st pole ( I think this is brilliant, if I do say so myself, cause the rod can be made taller as he grows!) My granddaughter is here today, and thought he needed a hat. Hung out with a tree-hugging squirrel, a couple birds, a pipe-smoking frog, and an antisocial cat today. I repotted my 2 Bird of Paradise plants (Reg & Nick) together, and added some assorted propagations I had around the bottom to keep them company. The frog was a gift from my daughter @kate8etak years ago, and his legs are broken off, but they're still there, and now he's helping the bird stay upright.
