So proud of Carter and his accomplishments in school this year. Last night, he was recognized with distinguished honors and also inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. Each award required discipline, consistency and hard work. Distinguished honors are all grades above 90 percent with a total average 95 and above. 10 days away from one of the biggest challenges of my life. A 50k trail ultra marathon in the mountains of PA. I’ve never ran that far in my life. It’s out of my comfort zone for sure. Plus I really don’t like to run. But with everything in life, we can learn lessons in what we do. One of the powerful lessons learned in my journey training for the race is the power of commitment. When you commit everything changes. Your discipline and training is raised because you have a target. You prioritize recovery and sleep. You strategize on the best ways to train for the hills and elevation. Commitment is the key. Commitment changes the game. That’s the lesson I want to share with the dads in my network today. If you don’t commit, even before you’re ready, you will stay stuck. That rut or pattern you may be in will remain. Commit and change everything.
