❄(продовження) ... паперовий подарунковий пакетик пролежав надто довго в снігу і був геть мокрим, тож я поклав його на батарею підсушитись, як прийшов до бабусі. А через деякий час, коли всі інші прийшли до бабусі, і ми уже збирались вечеряти смачним вінегретом з білим хлібом, я згадав про свою знахідку. Батарея тоді дуже добре гріла, тож пакетик швидко і добре просушився. Але коли я дістав його, зрозумів, що він був не порожній: щось там було всередині. І коли я відкрив пакетик, то радості моїй не було меж: зсередини на мене дивилась фіолетова купюра у 50 гривень! На той час то для мене був величезний скарб! Бо ми з сестрою тоді збирали гроші, щоб купити всім на Новий рік солодкі подарунки. Це була давня традиція: з самого початку ми усією "бандою"(а нас було п'ятеро) щороку збирали й здавали у пункти прийому пляшки, макулатуру, і на вилучені гроші купляли шоколадки й клали під ялинку у свят вечір. Потім наша "банда" збирачів потроху розпалась, але традиція таки лишилась, і в той рік ми разом із сестрою все ще прожовжували разом збирати гроші, щоб згодом купити солодких смаколиків і узатишнити ними зимові свята. Тож знайдений скарб став неочікуваним сюрпризом від Зими, а, може, то сам Санта підкинув мені тоді у сніг той подарунок...🎅🏻🎁 Якби там не було, це було справжнє маленьке диво. А ви вірите у дива?.. A Self portrait on this rainy Sunday morning… I used a thicker piece of willow charcoal, which was very tricky for me to use, esp on the more fiddly and detailed areas like fingers and facial features but I think for my first go at a more detailed and complicated figure, I’m happy with it. I could probably go a bit bigger another time as I think this would allow me to loosen up more. For this exercise I needed to do a longer (1 hour) and larger (A4) figure/life drawing showing some foreshortening in hands and/or feet, using a medium like charcoal or similar and putting the model in an interesting position. Decided to use Ichika from the Spilled Ink (spilledinkyt) YouTube channel by Daidus and Emirichu for this day's practice. Used bits from their video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8mOBldcPzs, for reference. Maybe about two hours. Did it while watching episodes 1 and 2 from "For All Mankind" season 3. Still attempting the blur/painterly coloring, but I think I need to step back from that. Gave up trying to make it work before trying to color in the strawberry portion itself. Continuous Line Drawings. Two-minute Gestures of Steve. Learning to draw the live model for the first time can be daunting. Often, students are overly concerned with making a mistake, stunting them from drawing their first line onto a page. The trick to a ‘Continuous Line’ drawing is to keep your drawing tool on the page at all times. Draw one line moving in a forward direction. Try to coincide the direction of your line with your eyes as they cross and explore the form. Keep your eyes on the model 60/80% of the time and 40/20% on your paper. Beginning from the feet while moving upwards, through and across the model can be helpful, though, beginning anywhere you feel most comfortable is optional. Give yourself permission to explore line on paper with variation and fluidity. Let your hand ‘skate’ across your page. This warmup should feel stress free, experimental and organic. What happens, happens. You’re aiming for a less controlled drawing experience while focusing on developing stronger hand / eye coordination. We've arrived at the last week of school! These days are complex and bittersweet, but full of such excitement for what's ahead. In our case, that means summer camps - we're getting so close to week one, beginning on June 3rd. Although our camps are full, there are still some intern spaces available.
