LONE PINE KOALA SANCTUARY What an incredible day. I came to Brisbane just for this and it was 100% worth it! I cried when I got to hold Milton the Koala. And feeding the kangaroo was amazing, I could have sat there all day. This was my last official tour of the trip. I can't believe it. Leaving tomorrow for an impromtu return to Melbourne for the weekend then it's home for me! ❤️ I am overwhelmed with gratitude right now. The last three and a half weeks have been absolutely incredible. Such a big world out there to be explored and experienced. Thank you to everyone for your suggestions. May 20th 2024 - MT WHITNEY 2 for 3. Almost one year since my failed attempt on June 10 2023 •First off I want to say thank you to @luz_her25 for inviting me and giving me another shot at redeeming myself. Last year i got elevation sickness early on the hike and had to turn back. It really broke me that day not being able to summit but it motivated me to train harder and come back! • Second I would like to tell my little brother @mykey_g1 HAPPY BIRTHDAY! He said that I would summit and I believed him. Wishing you nothing but the best! • Third I would like to thank @kevingarcia3528 for helping guide everyone into getting acclimated and leading the hike. Also thank you @the.mattdalorian and @dreamhunter666_ for cooking for everyone! To start off we huddled in a circle and Kevin brought out a recording of @chi.mex_active and it made me so emotional hearing her prayer and as I closed my eyes I felt myself on top of the summit feeling incredible. I knew then I was going to summit. All the way to trail camp I felt amazing! A complete difference from last year. I trained so much to be ready and I felt the difference! It just goes to show that you can always come back with a much stronger version of yourself 💪🏾 don’t give up. Even through the chute I felt great! I felt like nothing could stop me! Once we hit trail crest is when things started to change. I felt really heavy on the final 1.9 miles and slowly started getting exhausted and slower. I would stop every once in a while, breathe, and take another 20 steps that was the only thing I could do. My mind would wander as if I would forget what I was doing. I’d quickly snap out of it, breathe and keep going. Still feeling strong we almost made it to the top until suddenly I felt sick and puked right before the summit. Surprisingly I felt great! Just what I needed to make it to the summit! PCT Day 37 - Mile 744.2 to Cottonwood Pass, Mile 751.4 (May 2) Today was 7 miles along the PCT to Cottonwood Pass, then another 3.5 miles to the campground and a further 4 mile road walk until there’s cell phone signal. The walk to Cottonwood Pass had lovely views along the valley of dutch meadow and mulkey creek, and after hiking around the trail peak we got views of Cottonwood lake and the campground. We also got our first good view of Mt Whitney! Looking forward to some rest days in Lone Pine after our first stretch in the Sierras!
