Back then it was a game of what you felt not what you could see. Most if not all of my most memorable captures throughout the years have come from that old school little sixth sense sensation. Danas, 9.3. je tačno 18.godina (!) od moje prve samostalne izložbe! Bila je to skromna izložba crtežo-akvarela u Srećnoj galeriji u SKC-u, godinu dana pre nego što sam upisala Akademiju. Ali moj prvenac na koji sam ponosna. Mislim da su radovi, postavljeni nalik na neku instalaciju, najavili nežni senzibilitet koji je bio u povoju kao i neke kasnije faze u crtežima koje sam imala tokom studija, i kasnije. Nažalost, spletom raznih okolnosti (mladalačkog nemara, kompjuterskih kvarova i jednog požara) skoro da nije ostala nikakva dokumentacija o ovoj izložbi. A požar je pojeo većinu radova. Zato se ovog jubileja prisećam sa jedinom pozivnicom koju sam sačuvala i porodičnom slikom sa otvaranja koju je brat pretvorio u čestitku roditeljima za godišnjicu. Sadly, due to circumstances (youthful recklessness, computer malfunction, and a fire), almost all evidence of this exhibition was destroyed. Scouring the beach for plastic started round about 2019, when I reconnected with the Devon beaches of my childhood. This is the largest piece of plastic I’ve ever found - a lid from some kind of barrel, which I dragged off the rocks, taking it to the nearest recycling bin @thebeachhutcafe South Milton beach. I felt a little crazy as people were giving me strange looks! 😆 This was much to the irritation of my trusty Airedale Alfie, it made him nervous and he was pulling in the opposite direction. He didn’t like bit shapes - not the bravest of dogs, despite his large size. We had many beach walks together. Sadly he is no longer with us, he died last year at the grande old age of 12 and a half. I miss him lots, we had a lot of adventures together, he was a character and was never far my side. 🥲 His face always lit up when he got onto the sand and he’d start running along the beach trying to avoid the sea!
