Captured by @lhbluegrasser . Here are some images he just finished processing of the Carina Nebula that were taken on a recent trip to Australia. Chris took his Redcat 71, AM5 and tripod, and used a ASI2600MM camera, EFW, and ASIAir. Chris only had a few days to capture data (180sec subs). Chris was able to get about 2 hours of each channel: LRGB, Ha, S, & OIII using Astronomik filters. Processed with Astro Pixel Processor, PixInsight, and Light Room. The image in the Hubble Palette (SHO) is his first ever. Chris is very happy with the results since his imaging time was limited. The Carina Nebula is only visible in the southern hemisphere. Also called Eta Carinae Nebula and NGC 3372; it is a large, complex area of bright and dark nebulosity in the constellation Carina, located in the Carina–Sagittarius Arm of the Milky Way galaxy. The nebula is approximately 8,500 light-years from Earth. #messierobjects #solarenergy #themilkyway #milkywaygalaxy #galactic #hobbyphotograph #ig_astrophoto #spacefacts #astroboy #astrophotography #exploremore #coolspace #blackholes #spacetourer #spaceneedle #sunrise #thecosmos #spacecity #spaceage #spacetravel #spaceimages #deepspace #lightyear #m64 #telescopio #observatory #astronomy #venus #sunset #moonrise @nasa @nasawebb @spaceforcedod @spacex @skywatcherusa @galacticcoffeeroasters @europeanspaceagency @agenaastro @tolgaastro @highpointscientific @qhyccd_astrophotography @sbigimagingsystems @atik_cameras @player_one_astronomy

Last night’s session went better than the one from the night before (which didn’t yield any useful results due to numerous issues that I ran into). However, I was still unable to successfully acquire the amount of data that I had planned for. So here is what I ended up getting of M104 (Sombrero Galaxy), with a total integration time of only 22 minutes. Hacía tiempo que llevaba detrás de esta planificación. La región de Antares y Ofiuco encima del castillo de la puebla de Almenara. Messier 3 shot from my backyard in Fairhope AL last night. From nasa: The globular cluster M3 was the first object in the Messier catalog to be discovered by Charles Messier himself. Messier spotted the cluster in 1764, mistaking it for a nebula without any stars. This misunderstanding of M3’s nature was corrected in 1784 when William Herschel was able to resolve the cluster’s individual stars. Today it is known to contain over 500,000 stars. . . . The next six objects in my ongoing Messier catalog series! The most notable of these six is undoubtedly M51, aka Whirlpool Galaxy. It’s been a couple of years since I last acquired data of it, and I may return to it this year if weather and my schedule allow. M50 is an open cluster that I captured in just the last couple of months with my current rig, so feel free to check out my post from then for more details on that acquisition. The other four were all captured at least several years ago with minimal integration time. #astronomy #astrophotography #space #spaceimages #astroimaging #deepsky #deepskyphotography #deepskyastrophotography #messier49 #messier50 #messier51 #messier52 #messier53 #messier54 #whirlpoolgalaxy

Astrum's Image of the Week! Taken straight from the Astrum Displate collection. Can you guess which moon this is from the clues? - It is the largest moon in our solar system. It’s bigger than Mercury and Pluto. - In Greek mythology, the name of this moon was a beautiful young boy who was carried to Olympus by Zeus disguised as an eagle. - The Hubble Space Telescope has found the best evidence yet for an underground saltwater ocean on this moon. Guess which moon I am describing in the comments! ⬇️ Would you like some fantastic space imagery for your wall? My latest attempt at Markarian’s Chain from last Friday’s session. Since it was my first time back at my favorite dark site this year, I had planned on at least 2 hours of imaging, starting around 9:30pm and ending around midnight. However, I was having trouble with my StarSense of all things as my goto just wasn’t working properly, and when I finally got past that issue and began the process of calibrating my autoguider in PHD2, CPWI suddenly decides to crash on me. I spent more time than I probably should have for the glitch to clear on its own, before finally just powering off my mount, powering it back on, and going through the entire alignment process all over again. Everything was working properly after that. By the time I was finally able to begin imaging though, it was 10:30, and I could only get about an hour in before my wife and I started getting too chilled from the dropping temperatures. Anyway, here’s the product of that experience. Feel free to flip to the second image for the annotated version. Had the opportunity last Friday to return to my favorite dark site for the first time this year! Before my deep sky session was fully underway, I snagged a couple of images of the crescent moon. One was at a “normal” exposure time, the other required a much longer one to reveal the faint earthshine. As far as combining multiple exposures into a single HDR image goes, that’s considered frontier territory for me right now. I have GIMP which I’m pretty sure allows one to do just that, but I have yet to fully explore and understand that particular realm of post-processing. Architect Jordan William Hughes has devised a conceptual blueprint for a space elevator linking an ocean-based spaceport with a versatile space station. Drawing from the groundwork laid by physicists and engineers, Hughes envisions this innovation as a potentially more streamlined mode of space transportation compared to conventional methods. The suggested elevator would operate by utilizing a secured asteroid in geostationary orbit as a counterbalance for a maritime spaceport. A sturdy tether would link the two, extending from the asteroid to Earth. This setup would facilitate the movement of drones ferrying passengers and goods between the ocean-based spaceport and a space station positioned over 26,000 kilometers above Earth's surface. I finally had a chance to processes some of my eclipse images. For now, I've focused on the totality phase of the eclipse. Taken in Killeen, Texas which had cirrus clouds present and the occasional cumulonimbus clouds. As a result this eliminated any chance of imaging the extended corona, but the active sun's prominences didn't disappoint. I've uploaded 3 images one from the beginning of totality, one in the middle, and one near the end. Captured with a 540mm focal length telescope and a modified Canon T2i DSLR, giving an effective focal length of 700 mm, all on an iOptron mount. #astrophotography #astronomyphotography #spaceimages #universetoday #amateurastrophotography #amateurastronomy #igastrophotography #eclipse2024 #eclipse

Interstellar space travel architecture encompasses the design and infrastructure required for conducting missions beyond our solar system. Here are some key components: * Spacecraft Design: Interstellar spacecraft need to be designed for long-duration missions, capable of withstanding cosmic radiation, micrometeoroids, and extreme temperatures. They may incorporate advanced materials and shielding to protect against these hazards. * Life Support and Crew Well-being: If crewed missions are considered, spacecraft must provide life support systems capable of sustaining astronauts for potentially decades or even centuries. Psychological support systems would also be crucial for maintaining the mental well-being of crew members during long-duration missions. * Mission Planning and Logistics: Planning interstellar missions involves complex calculations and considerations, including trajectory optimization, resource management, and contingency planning for unforeseen events. Mission planners must account for factors such as gravitational assists, interstellar dust, and potential encounters with celestial bodies along the journey. * Interstellar Infrastructure: Establishing infrastructure beyond our solar system, such as relay stations or refueling depots, could support future interstellar missions and enable exploration of multiple destinations within interstellar space. Astrum's Image of the Week! This week we're throwing it back to an image from an early Astrum Displate collection. It's Jupiter! This image has been taken straight from the Astrum Displate, with incredible detail of the gas giant. If you'd like this image displayed in your home, you can head straight to the Astrum Displate page to purchase your very own through the link in my bio. #SpaceImages #SpaceDisplate #JupiterPhotography #Astrophotography #SpacePhotography #Astrum #SpaceForEveryone

NGC 281 (Pacman Nebula) is a very large, very bright emission nebula located about 9,500 light years away in the northern constellation of Cassiopeia. Found in the Perseus Arm of our Milky Way, the nebula is home to several Bok globules and thick, dark dust lanes. 📷Astrodrudis Follow for more @entrospace . . . #nasa #entrospace #spacex #nebulapic #nebula #galaxies #nebulae #lovenebula #universe #lovephotography #space #lovegalaxy #star #lovespace #spacelovers #spaceimages #spacephoto #astronaut #astrophotography #iloveyoumoon #dark #galaxy #galaxyphotography #ngc #spaceart #isro #2024 #newpost

Yo! Above you'll see the progression of covers for my recent track and I wanna share the resource I've used - it's an app called One Lab and trust me when I say it's capable of bringing your ideas to life. It's free 🙌🏾 and if you're looking for some image editing software on the go, look no further. (It may be android exclusive, not sure) I took a minimalist approach to this one. Simplicity is best at times. I recolored the space image used for another track I released back in 2019 and I wanted to create a zoom/light speed effect through the lens of the traveler...so after many more adjustments than you see here, I decided on the final slide. If I can do this kind of thing, you can too. Feel free to ask any questions 👍🏾 Also, I've got an awesome animated video coming up that features "Cosmos" 🌌 and if you think THIS is mesmerizing, faaam, prepare to be amazed As always, thank you for your support 🙏🏾 #digitalediting #spaceimages #cosmos #musiccommunity #beats #instrumentals #producergrind #beatmakerz

So far I’ve been able to successfully process one of my lunar closeups that I captured on Friday 3/22. Unfortunately the external hard drive that I keep all my astro data stored on is currently having issues and I’m not able to retrieve all the acquisition details at this time, so I’ll just give you the basics. This was taken using my ASI533 camera and Celestron 8” SCT. The moon was at 96% illumination, seeing was on the poorer side. Total frames was about 27000 and I stacked the best 5%. #astronomy #astrophotography #space #spaceimages #lunar #lunarphotography #lunarastrophotography #lunarimages #lunarcloseup #moon #moonimages #moonsurface #moonterminatorline #zwo #zwoasi533mcpro #celestron #celestronavx #celestron8sct
