We kicked off the weekend with some impactful flavoured food @ottolenghi_restaurants , which is located in a quiet street hidden behind @oldspitalfieldsmarket We shared grilled asparagus and filleted seabream which followed with a spicy lamb kofta and a zinging chicken skewer. The staff were great at recommending the dishes and sharing plates, would recommend ordering the flatbread to accompany the main dishes. I had a wonderful dinner at Galvin Bistrot & Bar. For me the star of the show was the tomatoes and burrata. When I saw it on the menu, I wasn't overly excited but when I took the first bite, oh wow. It had different kinds of sweet tomatoes, burrata, some sort of vinaigrette with chives(?), basil, lemon zest and a sprinkle of chilli. The lemon zest made it taste so fresh. Lovely little coffee & cake stop at @potterandreid - went quite late in the day so sadly missed their food (and pastries were probably long gone!) but I did get a beautiful date, honey & walnut banana bread (with a lovely sesame & demerera crumb on top), a beautifully fudgy almond blondie and a brown butter friand. Perfect post-lunch sweet treats after a loaded bagel @noxybrothers 🥰 And since random photo dumps seem to be the main thing I post atm, and I'm seemingly incapable of going a day without banana bread, a little snack from this morning - vanilla yogurt, granola, an apple I got from the work fruit basket that I refuse to waste and banana bread chunks. And *another* freshly baked loaf of banana bread - I think I can practically bake this in my sleep now 😂
