Architecture photography in the age of total surveillance! It seems to get more and more difficult to just walk around with your camera and shoot your darling concretes.... I was in Stockholm mid april and went to the lovely 1975 Trygg-Hansa building by Tengbom Salamon architects. After a walk around two police cars and 4 officers came hunting me down! Yes, this is under our protection! Passport... delete files... Who, why, what...!? I got away without a report and went on - thinking I would return and shoot from the hip. After some hours I got back and into the underground supermarket, sneaked behind a statue, a busstop and a sign! (Entering the supermarket you pass big pictures of the building praising it!) And I still recall the really nice shots I had to delete... I sent the police an email.... And for the future... I don't really know.. It is a small, 3-storey, faceted, red metal building designed with lots of care and attention to detail. Adjacent to it is a wide inviting staircase connecting Sergels Torg with the rest of the city. This is one of my favourite new buildings in Stockholm and contains one of the world's best bars (no.31 in 2023!).The drink menu is designed by award-winning bartender Hampus Thunholm and incorporates local flavors from Sweden!
