So … this is 50. I am blessed, truly. Is my life perfect? Is it what society deems “normal” … is it what others would choose? Is it always ideal? Is it easy? NO! However … it is simple. Not everyone would think this. I feel this because I choose this life daily. I choose the people based on who they are and how much they mean to me. I choose simple because I ebb and flow with life not always needing an explanation or an answer. It’s simple … maybe not always easy or ideal but because I choose all the things I do and have and if I can’t choose that I choose how I deal and react to things and people. Why fight it all? Do I set boundaries and request respect ? Absolutely. Can I control who does and doesn’t ? NO but I can control whether they have access to me or not. You see … if we’d all stop making damn excuses or sitting in “poor me” states we truly could make a change first in our lives, then those around us and then the over flow! It’s true. I promise you that. WHY are you fighting what is happening or what is currently your truth? Fighting it won’t fix it. Trust me. Many people say they ebb and flow but I haven’t met very many that truly live it. Just like people say “ it is what it is”… those people never have true power UNTIL they truly mean it. Look…the sun looks like a ring on my finger!!! 😉 I’m loving all the spring flowers I’ve been seeing everywhere lately. So many different colours! Also, all the different birds and ducks too. I spotted a robin’s nest over a light when I was running past it because the Robin flew into it just as I was passing. Now, every time I go for a run, I look to see if the robin is in the nest. So far, it has been. No sign of babies yet. I can’t wait to see them! Also, yesterday day was the first day I spotted the frogs in the pond at Woodbine Park. I spotted 7! As I was leaving the pond, I saw a HUGE snapping turtle returning to the water. I watched him walk back to the pond, down the small hill and submerse himself in the water. 43 hills over 13.1 miles. Our 2nd Half Marathon in 2 weeks. #runthebluegrass did not disappoint. As you scroll through listen to the videos. But, please ignore the fact that I got slighted .08 miles, and look at that freaking elevation: 1,050 😳🤪 that’s freaking insane. (Last pic) But here’s the thing: we had so much fun. Yes, that hill in mile 10 sucked ass, I think it was # 35, and then hill 38 sucked too, but after cussing (okay, just me) we laughed a lot. The Yosemite Half Marathon did not disappoint! The first five miles were on a fire road with lots of little elevation changes, and rough terrain… but then we were rewarded with five downhill miles. I’d like to dedicate miles 6-10 to gravity, who was the real champion. Predictably, I rode the struggle bus in miles 12-13… but stunning views of Bass Lake helped tremendously.
