Printed out my printmakers pattern and I'm humbled by people who do this for a living and on a much larger scale! I struggled with a single meter let alone large swathes of fabric! It's not a true repeating pattern as I was a bit enthusiastic with my carving and decided it would be fine to eyeball part of it... My little pattern I carved this morning gave me the motivation to attempt to finish off my bigger pattern I'll be using for my eraser stamp quilt but I got to a point where I didn't see any point in stopping as it was nearly done so kept going and it's done finally 🥳 Think I'll be cutting a few more registration points so I know to line them up better but don't think I did too badly for a first go at a hand carved and hand printed pattern! I got a bit fed up trying to make the wood grain of the lino tools match up so eventually resorted to printing one of the finished tools onto a scrap bit of lino and quickly carving that to stamp onto the main block as a reference! It was a great help and now I have a cute lil lino tool stamp aswell. Day 100/100 - Symbiotic I've only gone and done it folks! 100 (or more in my case) stamps in 100 days! When I first started the 100 days I thought I'd be lucky to get even halfway before I ended up giving up and even then that was me being optimistic. ADHD makes it pretty damn hard to make habits and do normal everyday things consistently let alone a sustained art practice. When I've tried completing it in the past I've never even got past the first month! So to have now completed the entire 100 days has me pretty speechless tbh and I'm not really sure what to do with myself now that it's done... Day 97/100 - A Raven I've been a bit obsessed with ravens recently! They're just really cool. Ive always liked wolves too but only recently discovered that they're even more awesome together! Ravens will detect prey and create a load of noise which brings in the wolves who will then down the prey, eat their bit which breaks the hide and then the ravens swoop in to eat their fill too! It's so cool how they get wolves to do the work as their beaks aren't strong enough to break the hide nor would they be able to take down such large prey! The young of both species have also been documented playing with one other. How cool is that!? Managed to finish sewing the eraser prompt challenge sets together, just need to put a border round each panel before I can join them. From left to right are the artober 2023 stamps, Carvember 2023 and my 100 day challenge stamps including the ones from floral February. You can definitely see an improvement from when I started, I'm slowly getting better at making the lines join up and didn't have to unpick anything this time! Whilst I had my mini heat press out to iron the panels flat I thought I might as well put some patches onto my dungarees that I'd been meaning to do for awhile, when I was ironing the ghost on a subtle green glow appeared. I'd completely forgotten I'd put glow in the dark ink on some of the fabric patches!
