K24 Civic ep3 turbo in with us for an engine replacement after a rod bearing let go. We supplied and fitted a K24A engine for this customer aswell as new genuine oil pump, timing chain, tensioner and guides. K20 Oil pump was modified to fit the k24 allowing more room for rpm. We used k20 oil pump chain, guide and tensioner when fitting. In theory the customer should be able to carry on using as he was but we’ve advised for the map to get checked over for peace of mind. A friend of ours dropped his Subaru Impreza sti jap import off to have some love. We supplied and fitted all parts. As always, this is a service we can provide if required! The owner wants to reach a certain level of power with this car and the stock clutch wasn’t going to last very long so we started off by replacing the clutch for an exedy stage 3 paddle clutch which is rated over & above what he is trying to achieve. Torco gearbox oil used with the reinstall of the box While the car was with us we replaced the oil & filter aswell as the spark plugs. Honda Civic EP3 dropped off to us to have our drive in drive out turbo conversion carried out. I wish on Instagram you could post more than 10 photos as I have a lot for this build but…. The customer had already had a stage 4 CC clutch fitted so that saved us a job however the subframe still has to be removed to replace the sump with an AN10 fitting. We used a @crsrace_fab sidewinder, downpipe & screamer setup which fits like a glove 🧤 all wrapped in heat management to prevent things getting hotter than they should or worse 🔥 @pulsarturbouk supplied us with a GTX3582R GEN2 The timing chain, tensioner & guides was replaced for genuine Honda parts whilst it was with us to ensure the engine is as healthy as can be. We made all the intercooler pipes in house and mounted the intercooler. It then went to @s.p.fabs to have the link pipe made from down pipe to exhaust system. An upper intercooler bracket/brace, cut the hole in the bonnet for screamer pipe and fitted the bov flange. Not forgetting the custom battery tray in the boot to keep it secure after relocating. As many may know EP3s don’t come with a fuel return as standard & when fitting a turbo it causes restrictions with injectors not being able to run the sufficient duty. So we fitted a return system to help with the fuelling when it comes to the tuning without any restrictions. Once the car came back we uploaded a base map to the Hondavert ecu and ran the car up to temp bleeding the system and checking for oil & coolant leaks. Once we were happy the car was sent to Gordon @street_racers for a tune and he worked his magic as always finishing up at 480bhp on high boost and close to 400bhp on low boost. Here we have a Turbo EP3 that came to us after throwing the rod out the original block and needing an engine replacement. Customer wanted to go down the k24 route so we sourced a K24A from our local supplier & ordered supporting parts to allow the K24A to perform as it’s supposed to. Civic EP3 came in recently to have an engine replacement after dropping a valve on the current k24 Frank. So after discovering the valve had dropped, we went about sourcing a K24A along with genuine timing chain, tensioner & guides. The oil pump wasn’t any good in the original engine so we replaced that with an OEM Honda K20 oil pump to help with the rpm on the new k24. Customer wanted to fit a new flywheel while it was in bits. All the original ancillaries were cleaned and swapped over to the new engine along with his skunk2 drop in cams & 50 degree vtc. Went to @street_racers to be re tuned and made a healthy 280bhp. It had to be dropped off the night before as the engine has to be stone cold to check & adjust the valve clearances correctly. Our old civic eg k20 turbo came in for engine replacement as after 5 years of abuse it finally lost compression. Customer brought himself a forged engine ready to install straight into the car. After swapping ancillaries over and getting it installed back in the car. We discovered a few problems. - bolt from the valvetrain assembly was in the sump - Had non genuine timing chain & tensioner fitted ( was supposed to be a toda kit ) We replaced the timing chain, tensioner & guides for genuine Honda so the customer has peace of mind. Customer supplied @t7designltd alternator relocation kit to be fitted whilst the engine was out Heat Wrapped the downpipe for extra heat protection Fitted titanium exhaust & inlet manifold studs & new ball joints Fresh fluids and filters, new rocker cover gasket & tidied up some of the wiring and piping that had been fitted.
