Utilizo imágenes de mi familia, pero en realidad no se trata de un trabajo sobre mi familia, sino sobre la memoria: la de mi madre, la mía, la del mundo, y su reinterpretación con el paso del tiempo, con sus trampas y su revisión del tiempo presente. Two blocks down, same. 1/2 a block, quote, “But my dog’s STILL THERE! I’m AT the DOOR!!” And, right after this, the door inched open, dog walked out, and, as the door closed, “This isn’t MY LEASH!” Back on th’ phone she went, “This! Isn’t! My!! It’s time, folks, to Hash Tag Compare ‘N Contrast two of my cameras today. These’re from yesterday, and I did my own C ‘n C as I walked. So, 1) This’s with my Nikon Zfc, in - obviously - vertical mode, but here’s the thing: I’m only posting the vertical’s on this account, and I’m always in 16:9 mode, as that’s the way I like ‘em. But, y’know, BUT, 2) This’s with my Ricoh GRIII, and it’s only got a fixed frame 3:2. Works a bit better f’r th’ IG’s, but it’s SO wide, that basically the same framing from #’s th’s 1’s looks SO different. Th’ 1st ‘n last’re in 16:9 with Nikon, which th’s IG’s self-edits to th’ size o’ y’r phone, n’ th’ mid-five’re in 3:2 with Ricoh. . 3) One from the Ricoh, in color mode, just to have a person. 4) And…now…it’s Silly Selfie time, for some reason. 5) So, someone rented an eBike, rode it around @ProjectAngelFood and just left it there, in front of @ColetteMillerWings just like that. Here’s a bit of what Sunday looked like: 1) Is it pedestrian war time already?! Yes, he’s posed exactly as the sign. 2) Those little tiny ‘cycles are SO LOUD! I’m always amazed by that fact. 3) Here’s a fellow in a slowly moving car taking a, *Ugh,* “phone pic,” of, *UGH,* That Place That Can’t Be Named, and the other day, as I walked I…wait, it WAS Sunday, and that’s in #’s th’s 5’s, so Don’t Sue Me, um, maybe, uh, phones shouldn’t be used while, y’know, driving? Your car?! *Eh,* 4) *H’em,* here’s ‘nother one of Roman ‘n @Jodie_Wright19XX posing correctly for another ‘graph from my cam.’ It’s always so wonderful when future celebrities know how to pose - properly - for a camera. . 5) Th’ two of th’ three in the last seat are giving me That Look, and the front’s blocking her face while taking a picture of me. Oh, and, quote: “Are any o’ you T*m Cr*ise fans?! On y’r right, you’l. see They Whaich Shall Not Be Named.” Ha, ha?! 6) And here’s th’ loneliest fellow riding th’ tiniest ‘cycle. At the very least, they were all wearing helmets. And, 7) Yes, we’ve seen people more recently NOT crossing at the crosswalk, as too many think that legal jaywalking means walking right in front of cars, and yes. Yes, yesterday it rained in H’wood, and, no, no long walk for me. But I got outside just long enough to re-re-retry my #RicohCamera that I got over a year ago, as everywhere was STILL out -WAY out - of the FujiFilm X100V. They’re still out, but @Samys_Camera which’s where I got this #Ricoh just announced that the Z100VII’s coming out, so I’m still trying to - yes, REALLY trying - to decide if that’s going to ne a thing that I want. Get? Need?! Either o’ th’ ways, here, from not-quite raining-at-that-moment-yesterday’s phøťöġråpħș frõm thīs çåmęrä: 1) Auto-anything isn’t really a thing that I’m doing very often, but more on that in a moment. Auto-focus on the background of my neighborhood. . 2) Do not? Block?! The DRIVEWAY?!?! Say’s you’s! 3) Here’s the manual setting for this camera. I’m a B&W guy, but this auto-focus never seems to work, and I can’t - for the LIFE of me, {Ha, ha…} - figure out how to manual focus this. A bit o’ Compare ‘N Contrast from the posting I did earlier on @QuidQuoPhotography as that’s the only account that I’m doing the vertical photos on. To be clear: I’ve got seven of th’ accounts on th’ IG’s, and each has a different focus. Here’re a few personal(ish) ones from yesterday. 1) Repetitive, but mot. Pre-rain clouds over whatever building that’s s’posed to be, and that middle light’s on, while the sun’s still out, but 16:9 horizontal cuts it out, vs. 3:2 vertical. . 2) They’re not making Bug’s No More, so this’s neat ‘n weird. 3) Real person, real street, non-real camera, taken with my real camera. 4) Oh, this one’s fun. I started taking this one as the car was inching forward while a person was, y’know, Walking? On th,’ side, y’know, “WALK?!?!” “Oh,” silly people sillily think, “I’ve got comPLETE control of my car! Siete fotos tomadas el mismo día en las mismas calles. Es la liberación de Enghien-les-Bains a finales de agosto de 1944. Los alemanes están de retirada en el norte de París, pero reciben la orden de retomar y defender la ciudad a toda costa hasta el final y con todos los medios disponibles. Para ello llevan a cabo acciones punitivas contra la población, se reagrupan e inician una contraofensiva sobre Enghien y otras ciudades del norte de París... Memoria, esa cosa que se escapa entre los dedos como la arena fina de la playa. “7 Photos” es un ensayo fotográfico realizado a partir de un hecho histórico fotografiado por mi abuelo Henri Kohan en 1944, unas fotografías que le hice a él en 1990 y otras que tomé en 2023, setenta y nueve años después. El tiempo humano deja libertad a la memoria para recordar, interpretar y rediseñar los recuerdos mediante trampas o autoengaños. En los últimos meses he estado trabajando en un proyecto muy diferente a todo lo que he hecho hasta ahora. Esta vez, es un proyecto ciertamente personal. LINK EN BIO Pendant les derniers mois, j'ai travaillé sur un projet très différent de tout ce que j'ai fait jusqu'à présent. Cette fois-ci, c'est un projet très personnel. J'utilise des images de ma famille, mais en réalité, il ne s'agit pas d'un travail sur ma famille, mais plutôt sur la mémoire : celle de ma mère, la mienne, celle du monde, et sa réinterprétation au fil du temps, avec ses pièges et sa révision du présent. So, Sunday I did something that I rarely do: I walked around town with my damaged lens. When I got home, downloaded them, and looked at them on a big screen, I was a bit surprised that, in B&W, there’s no real sight of th’ un-focused mess that I saw a few months ago. But, the color ones? That’s a different story, as you’ll see: 1) @RedOceanPictures sort’a in th’ background, and another thing that I rarely do: Walked across the street to get this photo. . It’s a truck. In a, as they say, “Film Auto Mechanic.” 90% of th’ cars I’ve seen there are, sure, fancy(ish), but the other 10% o’ th’ time, they’re T*sla’s. 2) A person staring at his phone, waiting for a bus, obviously becoming the smartest. Person. In the World. Hm?! Oh, ‘cuz he’s staring. At his PHONE! 3) #SillySelfie Time, for some reason. We know it’s Sunday, as I’m wearing my @Sleater_Kinney shirt that says, “HELL.” . 4) ‘K, Math Time: Plane Flying Over + ATM Available Sign - ATM Machine NOT Available = Not Really Math. 5) And there’s the damaged lens output: The very middle’s wildly IN focus, as the ring around it’s not. 6) A person. Walking. In front of a place that, when I 1st moved back, I’d learned that it just got bought. It’s, as I’ve said before, odd going from remembering nothing after That Thing, then going from feeling like it was - and that’s everything - a million years ago, or yesterday. To go from that…to this. I remember these photos as if they were exactly #OneYearAgo Today, because that’s exactly when they were. Life’s, as I’ve also said before, weird, but - and I’ll say it again - it’s wonderful. Currently, and obviously, I live alone. In a studio apartment. So this’s pretty much my 1st communication of the day - EVERY day - with, let’s call it, “humankind.” So, so, so: . 1) Road construction - yes, ACTUAL road work - in my neighborhood(s). 2) #LightFlare as some new #ArtIsArt was being put up new @BroadWaterLA by a fellow that I asked for permission for this photo. 3) “Hey, person carrying shopping bags on the right side, was it you?!” 4) Oh, she said, “It’s Not Me.” Or did she?! Did SHE?!?! 5) I live somewhere, me’s’z think’s’z. 6) Just over two years ago, I was walkin’ about, and I was trottin’ right by this building, and two people walked out. We started chatting. Today’s got a bit of rain, so I’m a bit stuck at home, so there’s a bit of posting on all’ve my accounts today. But, I actually avoided posting too many, which’s a bit insane for me to’ve done, so, I’ll stop in a bit from the bit’s o’, “bits.” These’re from Saturday: 1) A camera fellow on H’wood. I took a few, then asked if it was okay that I was, and he said, “Sure, it’s cool,” then - all of a sudden - he was done. It’s odd that when people are okay with being photographed - especially fellow photographers - that, even though I’m taking photos OF them, “Don’t want to be in the way.” . Yeah, that’s obviously code for, “No. Photographs! of ME!!” 2) Clouds. 3) Clouds, but in color. Saturday was a pre-rain-cloud cloudy day. Whatever. 3) A block ‘n a 1/2 from my house - where I live - is @AstroBurger_WeHo where I’ll eat from time to time. . 4) Okay, this’s ACTually a 1/2 block from my house. Where I’m alive. Living? Either way, @Paramount has a camera or two. Monday had a thing ‘r two goin’ on: 1) A videographer, on Sunset, doin’ th’ H’wood thing; totally ignoring me. That’s to be expected, and it was quite obviously B-Roll of, um, whatever he was doing video of. Either a restaurant or a business, Hm? They’re both?! 2) And just before, I’d been on the rooftop of Home Depot. This’s one’ve my favorite places around here for phøťöġrąpħÿ wĩth mÿ çåmęrąś, and you c’n see why here. ‘Specially at sunset. 3) And after THAT/THOSE, I was by a school playing field, y’know, where they do, *eh, h’em,* “SPORTS?!?!” But with focus’s #’s 1’s on th’ fence. . 4) As I walked to all’ve these places, I’d stopped by another place that’s right back here, to make an appointment. On the way across the street, quote, “Hey! Take a picture of me?!” So, naturally, I did. At least he’s being polite…oh. At LEAST he’s not blocking the crosswalk as an older lady…isn’t…oh. Life’s weird. People’re, sometimes, weirder. 5) Same field, with SPORTS things, out there, somewhere. 6) And, an addition to said sunset: I’m seeing more and more of these flashing blue light things all over H’wood, and I’d assumed that they were some sort of speed-readers for cars, but, BUT, on the rooftop? If you know me, you know that I get bored easily. So, when I do stuff’s - ANY stuff’s - I’ve, quite literally, always, ALWAYS, have a camera on me. I’ve tried, but failed, to relax, and make my boring life even MORE boring. So, have s’m more o’ yesterday’s travelling photographs. I’ll do my best to differentiate between bus ‘n train photos, as these’re a bit out of order, today. Oh, yesterday’s were on @PawsitiveBearProductions as a few more’ll be today. This evening? Late afternoon?! Who CARES?!?! . 1) “Aw, c’mon! What’s in the box?!” Well, “It’s her pretty head.” And, as “Se7en’s” quotes go, “NOOoooOO!!” Yup, there’re a LOT of “Se7en-Esque” places along the way. Y’know from H’wood to the Bay. 2) But which, WHICH, I’s asks’s you’s, which is MORE “Se7en?!” Me think’s this’s it. 3) The last two were the train, as is the next. This one’s the bus, though. As will be the boring #’s th’s 5’s. 4) I could’ve pointed this camera up, gotten more clouds ‘n less empty road and fake river, but the train’s lights reflecting off of the window were, let’s say ugly, as they were quite ugly. . 5) It’s odd seeing things that are so much different than city-living, but SO much more boring. So, 1) After I’d gotten my camera, the ‘bow went from a FULL one, that touched the ground on BOTH ends, to, um, this. . 2) And #TwoCameras to boot. #OneYearAgoToday as I walked down Van Ness, right at the @ParamountPics entrance, a car - already going WAY too fast - peeled out as it rolled along. Then started swerving. Then hit the parking lot entrance, bouncing on the bump, very nearly flipping over. THEN it ran into a car on the other side. *”Crash!*” A security guard rushed out, and, “Are you alright?” He was asking me, then, “Do you know what…?” Then the car zoomed off. “If you need me to stick around, as a witness, I can.” Said me, but the guard? “No, he’s - or she’s - long gone.” I looked down the road, and he’d stopped. Tire was rubbing the fender, and there was a LOT of leakage. That’s in photo’s #’s th’s 4’s. So…: . 1) Hm? Oh, the usual. Later on, after they’d caught the #DrunkDriver I walked up to H’wood, where a music video was being shot on phone. More on that in a bit. 2) Not quite a #SillySelfie but this’s the last car I’d had before That Thing That Happened, happened. 3) Um, I…this, uh, what f’ing year is this?! 4) Said car, down Van Ness. So, Friday, I only used my #ZV1 and for today’s post, I wanted a few B&W’s, so these/those’re with my #NEX7 from Saturday. Hm? Oh, Saturday had both my new(est)(ish) obsession - taking photos of cameras, with MY camera(s) - plus one’ve, well, you’ll see. And Friday had both my 3rd favorite vehicle that I’ve ever owned, the ‘87 Toyota LandCruiser, and…hm?! Oh, 2nd’s my ‘67 V.W. Bus, but th’ 1st’s my ‘78 Postal Jeep. *Eh,* y’know, *h’em,* but also my 3rd LEAST favorite - sure, let’s call it a, “band” - of all time, and…HM?!?! Oh, 2nd’s The Gr*ful Dead, ‘n everyone know why, but 1st’s The Count*ng Cr*ws, which @Joe_Dana ‘n @ColinDana2 ‘n many other’s know why as well, but 3rd? Well… 1) A camera. At WSS parking. With flags. D’uh. 2) A block and a 1/2 from my house is an auto clinic that says it only works on, “Theatrical Autos.” That’s a bit odd, but here’s a LandCruiser. Right. Below. Hey, R*d H*t Ch*l* P*pp*rs, when you’d said that my favorite band - Faith No More - who formed in ‘79, were copying you, who’d formed in ‘82, well, I knew you s*cked. Yes, @Joe_Dana this’s my 5th time since moving back to th’ H’wood’s that I’ve seen Angelyne. And, yes, @ColinDana2 this’s the 6th time that I’ve had (somewhat of) an interaction with her. That time on the Denny’s lot on Gower, that OTHER time INSIDE the Denny’s at Gower, Pavilion’s parking lot entrance, which was the 1st day that I’d brought a camera with me shopping, and made me know that I ALWAYS have to have one with me. Twice on Fairfax, then that time I’d seen them doing that new Angelyne series shooting, oddly enough, across the street from said Denny’s. So, #MovingOnTo one’r two ‘o yesterday’s activities. . 1) As I waited for @NobreusTheActor to be finished with his phone call, I took this phøtögråph wĩth mÿ çåmęrä. Our neighborhood’s odd, but quite beautiful. 2) Yeah, every. Single. Time my camera went up, she turned. I guess having not paid her $40 for the absolute privilege of taking a picture of the most famous person in th’ world, well…I…uh, okay. But, BUT, I really didn’t realize that she was a fake singer in a fake band. Who knew?! 3) Naturally, some #LightFlare as there’s usually nothing else. 4) Sure, let’s pretend that the billboard’s a, “surprise appearance.” . 5) Here, all. Have a pretend comet shooting across the sky. And, as I’ve said before, thanks @MikeMacMcIntyre for the day before, as your company was wonderful, as, I’s guess’s, was @VZSound ‘s as well. 6) This was- quite literally - the most crowded I’ve seen MODA since it opened.
