I need to get my act together and upgrade to the @zwart app. 1)996 GT3 in Speed Yellow is simply iconic. I remember the first time I ever saw a 996 GT3 in person - it was Speed Yellow and crowding my mirrors in the Malibu Canyons - I was HOOKED for life. 2)Chartreuse is a RARE color for a 911. The only other 911 I’ve seen in this color is a 73RS. 3)Meteor Grey 997.1 GT3 owned by my great friend @type911. I remember the text message chain that led me to finding him this car on Autotrader of all places. Fun fact: that’s where I found my 996 GT3. LOL 4)1969 911S that we did a bunch of work on over the years. It was in the John and Laurina Esposito purgatory for 5 years; he was one of the lucky ones to get his car back. This car was recently on @jaylenosgarage. Check out the video on YouTube. 5&6)Another 996GT3, but in the best color AND with E88s. I think we work on this car, actually. @paul_scalisi is that you? 7)I fully expected this guy to hold up a tray of flash powder. POOF!!💨 Super old-timey, way out of place, and I loved seeing it. 8&9)An excellent ST clone. This one got me in the feels; with Porsche, less is truly more. I feel like I know this car, but if I don’t, I want to. 10)The original Patina Monster. This 72T has been a SoCal legend for more than a decade, and the owner drives it regularly. It’s been raining this whole week and with nothing better to do, I decided to flick through my old film albums. And then I realised that my taste in cars has gone through quite the transformation. I got into cars around the early 00’s and my preference stuck in the period between 80s’ and 00’s for the majority of my childhood years. It was natural - racing games had these cars on their covers and so as a kid, they were the coolest things. But then during my adolescence, my interest turned to vintage and it directed me towards things of the past. Cars, watches, cameras, menswear. The whole lot. And this was when I shot the most photographs with my trusty Nikon F3HP or Hassselblad 500C/M (both of which I carried wherever I went). This was also when I reached driving age. Hence, I had some rather peculiar ideas for my first car purchase, which included Alfa 1750 GTV, Lancia Delta HF and G-series 911. Mind you, these were way cheaper and I was oblivious as to how much maintenance they required. Remember Petrolicious? But as I finally got into the driver’s seat and started to spend more time on track, it was clear that I preferred something at least from the 90’s, whereby the level of performance finally matched a car’s presence on the road. As someone who did not drive, I could care less about how a car handled. As someone who does, it’s become all I care about. This is not to say older cars are not fun to drive. In fact, they can be extremely rewarding (if not more rewarding than their younger counterparts). However, I don’t think it’s too contentious for me to say that automotive technology took a huge step up in the 90’s. Speed became a lot safer and more accessible. Don’t get me wrong, my attention is still very much drawn to automotive legends of the past. I still remember being mesmerized by the start-up procedure of a 917K as the pumps started humming just last year. However, I no longer have a burning desire to own one of these. Some things are meant to be adored from afar, and I think these will be it for me. Anyways, here are some photos captured on film using my F3HP. Yes, it was very heavy to travel with.

Ice Grey Metallic is often an overlooked shade on the palette. One of the reasons for this I suspect is that it looks identical to GT silver on the configurator. Whatever the reason is, it’s a shame, as the color can sometimes look incredible, as it does on this 911 S/T. Ice grey first launched on the Taycan in 2021, and has appeared on the 718 and 911 standard offerings since, it was also the launch color for the 992 GT3 RS. Sitting alongside the color is a set of Dark Silver magnesium wheels. These wheels are standard on the S/T, and perhaps my favourite offering. Through the wheels we can also see the black callipers, a calliper that is ordinary to the S/T. Other elements on the exterior include the exclusive design taillights and painted lower mirrors, must haves on any 992. Inside we have a full black interior, a leather that has been contrasted with silver stitching. This will be rare choice I suspect, with many owners opting to have the classic cognac offering. Personally, I enjoy the black on this car, especially when paired with the 18-way seats, making this the perfect street spec. Stunning photos taken by @porscheexchange
