Fun how focused I was on boosting self confidence and showing you how I do it and then today happened 🤷🏼♀️🫣 We had an amazing powder day and overall everyone was so excited. Then we tried a path, that I’ve never been on before. And if you scroll to the videos you see my breakdowns 😂 But instead of cheering myself for doing it, with every fall, I’d tell myself how bad I am and how I should never do it again, even though I had so much fun. All that negative self talk did not help. Here I’ve got some examples: 🫵🏽 why can’t I just do it? 🫵🏽 I can’t snowboard, 🫵🏽 I suck, 🫵🏽 everyone hates me, as they have to wait for me, again, 🫵🏽 I can’t turn, 🫵🏽 I should just take my board off and walk, Now looking back at the videos I see that I actually can snowboard and I shouldn’t have said all these bad things. But I’m a work in progress and I’m learning by doing. 📍Alpbach, Austria About: Alpbach is a picture perfect village placed high on a mountain plateau in the beautiful Tyrol region of Austria. The village is just over an hour and a half south of Munich, Germany. This is the perfect place for you if you love mountainous and outdoor activities. Honestly, we’re not sure how anyone would dislike being outside with that scenery! * * What To Do: This is not a tourist-trap destination. You won’t find gift shops on every corner or spas. The town is an idyllic location for many European locals, but Alpbach stays true to its farming origins. The real reason you come to Alpbach is to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life, enjoy unparalleled natural beauty, and play freely in the great outdoors. There are plenty of well marked walking and hiking trails. You can even book free guide walks that take you to neighboring towns. Some of the other well known hikes take you to the tops of the surrounding peaks for spectacular views. If you prefer the easy route, take a gondola to the top and stop by the restaurant at the peak. There are plenty of places nearby to mountain bike, rock climb, raft, kayak, and swim. A simple Google search of “outdoor activities Alpbach Austria” will provide many rental locations for all your outdoor needs. We’d highly recommend taking a swim in one of the 4 swimmable, crystal clear lakes. One of our favorites is Reintalersee. The Fischertube restaurant overlooks the lake and sells fresh lake fish. We’ve been told the lake water is so clean you can drink out of it! Most importantly SLOW DOWN AND RELAX. This place is insanely gorgeous and the village’s alpine homes are stunning. Don’t forget to just sit and stare for as long as you’d like! * * Where To Stay: Hotels can get a little bit pricier here. There are plenty of options around nearby villages as well, but be sure to book well in advance for the best discounts. We’d personally recommend and Airbnb here. “Anna’s Apartment” is beautiful! It’s clean, has wifi, a kitchen, and views that are to die for! Anna’s apartment is just a few miles from Alpbach and runs for about $130 a night (all fees included).
