What a full day, and it’s barely afternoon! I volunteered at the finish line for the Savage 5K, which means I helped set up the water tables 💧 then passed out finisher medals. 🏅 Next I helped set up the Kids Race medals 🦋 and cheered the racers in the Glass Bowl. For my first appearance as your Ms. Ohio Woman AmeriFest 2024, I went to the Marion General Hospital Cardiac Rehabilitation Center where I got to encourage all the patients working toward getting healthy hearts. This is near and dear to my heart because my husband is a survivor of the “widow maker” heart attack. This lovely crew of women are there to make sure he is getting the exercise he needs without over doing it. A couple weeks ago, I served on staff at the OH/Great Lakes AmeriFest Pageant! 🌟 I worked as a dressing room attendant and also sold tickets for the Queens in Jeans party, raffle baskets and the shows! 🎟️ I look forward to the Queens in Jeans party every year! It’s a fun event open to titleholders from all pageant systems. The event celebrates sisterhood and collects donations for a good cause! This year, contestants and attendees donated 9,800 toys to @brightenupforthekids, which gives toys to patients at @akronchildrens! Brighten Up is in their 15th year of collecting donations and as of April, they have already broken every record they’ve ever had!
