Over the last month, we had the chance to witness 81 outstanding bars from 8 different cities compete for their spots in the National Finals of our 3rd & biggest edition of Bar Wars (280+ applicants & 800+ judges whaaaat?! 🤯) On the 9th of September, @nativecocktailroom rose to the occasion by selling over 50 cocktails (and winning many more hearts) in the span of 65 minutes, claiming their title as India’s Greatest Bar Team! We've brewed up something very unique with a little help from our friends over at @greaterthangin! 🍸 We had this crazy idea to make a gin-inspired IPA, and found our inspiration in Juniper berries, the heart of gin. So, we got in touch with Greater Than, the folks who kickstarted the gin scene in India, to take this idea to the next level! Meet the Greater IPA, brewed with Juniper berries and spices used in Greater Than London Dry Gin. Sorachi Ace and Wai-Iti hops make this beer super refreshing with a golden hue, medium body and a nice, piney finish. ABV: 6.5%, IBU: 35 Available at our taprooms in Koramangala and DLF CyberHub from 14th September! 🍻

It’s gone. It's officially over. The very last bottles of Juniper Bomb were rumoured to have been stored away under lock and key at @vaz_enterprises, who had purchased 50 cases when it was launched 🤯 This past weekend, we pulled out these bottles to spread the love from behind the bar at @barsogo. Before the very last bottle could be cracked open though, @vazdonovan climbed onto the bar and initiated an impromptu auction for it! The proud owner of the very last sealed bottle (as far as we know 👀) of Juniper Bomb is now @sidmewara who outbid the competition and walked away with the bottle signed by its distiller, @anandinaglass. This is where her deep passion for food and beverages blossomed, to the extent that enrolling in a Hotel Management course became a natural step to explore this love. It was during this course that Simran was introduced to the world of wines and spirits, sparking an irreversible fascination. This fascination led her to complete WSET Level 2 and 3 in wines and spirits with merit and distinction, respectively. This propelled her to delve deeper and pursue a Bachelor of Science in Wine, Brewing, and Alcohol Technology. Simran’s journey took an exciting turn when she joined Mastercraft, a course by Seven Rivers Brewing Co. What made this experience even more impactful was having a female head brewer as her guide. In a world full of diverse gins, there’s one constant that unites us all: ✨ Juniper ✨ The drink's name originates from the French term for juniper berry, "genièvre”, altered by the Dutch to “genever” and shortened by the English to gin - clearly signifying its fundamental role in the production of our beloved spirit (we’ll get more on this from @anandinaglass later, it’s his favourite story to tell 😋). To put it simply though, juniper is to gin what Shah Rukh Khan is to Bollywood - this hero botanical crafts gin's iconic flavour; So much so that they're *legally* required to be the core botanical for any spirit that wants the ‘gin’ title. Once this foundation flavour is set, distillers add their unique mix – just like ours did with their blend of almonds, orange peel, coriander seeds, angelica root, fennel, lemongrass, chamomile, and ginger. 6 years ago, we took this picture when we were just starting off on this crazy journey to make our own Gin. While the logistics, licenses and general bureaucracy were overwhelming challenges in the lead up to the launch of our Gin, the one niggling worry we had was probably the scariest – would people even take to an Indian Gin? This worry stemmed from the fact that a decade ago, “LOCAL” products were seen as inferior. Local meant cheap, mass-produced, unimaginative and unreliable. There were exceptions of course, but this was the general sentiment we all grew up with. Thankfully, this thought has changed drastically. Our local gins received a lot of love from so many of you from across the country and the globe, and continue to today. On Independence Day this year, we wanted to pass that love along to other fantastic Independent brands that have been helping build the perception that Local is Greater! 🇮🇳 Please join us in celebrating some of our favourite independent brands, and also tag some of your favourite brands as well!
