Rosanna Henderson @rosannasmosaics was born and bred in Northolt and now lives in Brentham Garden Suburb. She is a Mosaic and Fused Glass artist, creating vibrant, original, and affordable artwork for indoor and outdoor spaces, often combining the two art forms to unique effect. She discovered her creative side a bit later in life, having worked as a Personnel Manager for a multinational film distributor. She now runs ‘Rosanna’s Mosaics’. Sir Steve attended Little Ealing Primary School and Drayton Manor High School in Hanwell before continuing his studies at Ealing, Hammersmith, and West London College, focusing on A-level art. He even revisited his Ealing schooldays for an incredible project called Year 3, collaborating to photograph all 76,000 seven-year-old pupils in London's schools. The result? That team of council workers was not cleaning pavements, they were very leisurely removing weeds, apparently essential work being carried out at the height of the covid pandemic. They were not wearing masks, not keeping any distance. At the same time the bins in the park are overflowing and left full in the sunshine, for weeks on end, full of maggots and flies. Getting near one to dispose of dog poo is a health hazard. Go #ealing ! I've done a few calculations and worked out that roughly 7 billion social media accounts, across all countries and platforms, are dedicating themselves to sending out positivity: in the form of videos, photos and messages of hope and fraternity (from the Latin for brother and brotherly - this crisis is not big enough to be inclusive. Come on sisters, let's not overreact now). . This overflow of love from behind protective walls, is heartwarming. In particular for me, because it totally absolves me from having to participate. Think about it: what difference would one extra account, with hardly any followers, make, in a Pangaea of brotherly love for their fellow men? . Secondly, there is something much more important to consider here, and I would quote Groucho Marx's "I don’t want to belong to any club that would accept me as one of its members.", if of course that hadn't been repeated innumerable times since its inception - including being insufferably repeated by Woody Allen. So yeah, why would I want to join that oversubscribed bandwagon of positivity? What kind of a contrarian would that make me?! . Not to mention that just a month ago I gave in to societal pressure, posted a series of gratuitously feelgood photos and was promptly blocked by the fascists at @instagram for a whole month. Coincidence? Perhaps, but why take any chances? It was a month of torture and sharply declining mental health. It is not worth taking risks with jollity just after those weeks of suicidal thoughts. . So, I'll leave the positivity to you, the #blessed and the serotonin rich. You do it genuinely far better than I could ever feign it. . I'll just say it as I see it, and I see ambulances and police day and night. The death count in London probably totals more than the rest of the country combined. And Ealing is 3rd or 4th in the number of deaths amongst the Boroughs of @london. Way to go @ealingcouncil ! Your policy of not cleaning the pavements and parks paid off handsomely, with people already well primed to accept and bask in pestilence. #Ealing would be number 1, if the vagaries of fate didn't give us arbitrary borders with other top pestilent areas. 🤷🏻♂ . #suckitealing
