🎉Seven🎉 Ooof. Honestly this morning was rough. A rollercoaster of emotions. So many intense feelings inside one tiny body. She can cut you down and build you up faster than you can turn your head. Make you cry and melt your heart basically at the same time. She’s….a lot. To my strong, independent, quick witted, know-it-all daughter you are going to do something in this world that’s going to be life changing. I know it. As her teacher said, when someone tells her no she will turn it into a yes. So while she is a lot, I know she is meant to be more. And honestly, there’s nothing wrong with it. Being ‘a lot’ means she’s being her authentic self. And being able to express yourself fully should always be celebrated in a world that would rather you sit down and shut up. So if I’ve learned anything from Jamison it’s that being a lot is a good thing. Here’s to year seven.🎉

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMISON 🥳 Jamison Mara born 10 November 2015 in Texas via planned C-Section while Jamie was deployed in Afghanistan. She met her other Mother when she was 6 months old. Her first name was quite a thought process. We didn’t tell anyone her name before she was born because we didn’t want the comments of it being too ‘boyish’ or why we would call her that. We wanted her first name to represent the bond between her and Jamie, since I was carrying. We took the e out because we didn’t want people saying Jamie’s son...which is technically where the name stems from. Her middle name comes from me. To show even though we are not biologically related I’m tied to her just as much as Jamie. Both Jamison and Maiyah’s middle name (Amara) are similar so it was also our way of tying Jamison to her big sister as well. She’s not an easy going kid. There’s a lot of energy packed into that tiny body. A lot of personality. Anytime any of our family/friends describe her they all say she’s ALOT. At first I felt embarrassed. But now I don’t care. She takes up room. You will know she’s there and what she’s thinking. You will know where you stand with her. You will know her likes and dislikes. This little lady does not play around. She can be the sweetest person or the firecracker you accidentally set off. Jamison loves an adventure. She likes to be moving and doesn’t care about being loud. She’s got the sweetest smile and the stinkiest farts. She climbs, ‘swims’, and ‘snowboards’. She’s a lover of all things outdoors minus hiking/walking. Today she turns 5. And what a ride it’s been.

Happy birthday to the most quick witted 3 year old I know. I’m lucky to have a daughter like her even if there are moments where I want to pull my hair out. I love when she calls me babe and tells me to turn up the music, and the way her voice pitches a tiny octave higher when she says ‘for me’ when someone gives her something.
