The American photojournalist and @magnumphotos member Dennis Stock (1928-2010) was photographed by Andreas Feininger (1906-1999) for @Life magazine in 1951 after Stock had won a competition for young photographers. Stock holds a Leica IIIc camera tted with a Leitz Summitar 5cm f/2 lens dating from 1946. Stock became a full member of Magnum in 1954. Feininger #bornonthisday and educated in #Germany, later moving to Sweden. Just before the outbreak of war in 1939, Feininger emigrated to the United States where he worked as a freelance photographer. He joined the staff of Life magazine in 1943, remaining with it until 1962. He wrote a number of respected photographic manuals and technical books.
