In light of tomorrow being International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, we thought we would share a component we completed for a customer within the sector. This is a part used on Gym Equipment to absorb impact. To create it we manufactured a Change Mould - which was the perfect method as it allowed for a fast turnaround of prototypes, short-run parts, and offered the ability to use interchangeable mould inserts. With it being #NationalApprenticeshipWeek, we would like to shine a light on our apprentice Timothy! Since joining us two years ago, he has spent time in our moulding and pressing department as an operator, gaining a comprehensive understanding of both plastic moulding and metal forming. This training was a crucial step before transitioning to the role of a Trainee Toolmaker! Whilst working in our production departments, he has gained a level 3 apprenticeship, and is now doing a 3 year Higher Level Apprenticeship (HLA) programme in mechatronics and mechanical engineering.
