Meet Ruthie, a 12-week old lab/pit mix. We had our first session yesterday; first on our list is to stop her from mouthing. Our main focus is to teach her that she needs to use her nose (less painful to humans than teeth) to touch our hands instead of her teeth if she wants our attention. This is my first step to teaching "Touch." For a long time I was known as the trainer that worked with large breeds and reactive dogs. Due to Covid I’ve had a large number of small size dogs and lots and lots of puppies. This has brought on a lot of fun new tactics and methods. Today I get to see Lucy again (I am currently working with 3 Lucys 🤷🏼♂️.) Her owner wants to work on engagement, walking, building her confidence and recall.
