LA ART STUDY: digs & away from home studio 🎨🌇💯☀️ @thehoxtonhotel is a 1920’s building & ‘you wouldn’t know it by looking at it, but this hotel’s historic building was once the HQ of L.A. Railway.’ Seems fitting 🎨🚂 It has a vintage art open-house vibe in a perfect Broadway location, next level food & drinks & a bonkers view of the city from it’s rooftop pool & patio (where they host private parties you can maybe be invited to 😉). I had intention of painting reflections of adventures I got up to at the end of the day, & the room was a perfect ‘studio’ space & way more luxe than expected. It also happened to be room #213, which I was informed is the OG LA area code ☎️. I love serendipitous pieces of info like this; they make sparkly connect the dots patterns all over my creative brainstorm. I am not a blogger or travel info resource, but I felt compelled to highlight The Hoxton as it was an inspiring piece of my journey all on its own. ✨ The Hoxton has a few locations in other cities & it will be a no-brainer for me to book with them again. Thanks for the safe, comfy & relaxing stay Hoxton Hotel, & to the dope staff who of course are really what make a place great. 🎨✨💯☀️

Phineas Gage 🎨🧨💯 I provided an explanation about Phineas on my old account before it got hacked, because when I gain inspiration that isn’t from my dreams or organic thoughts I have this unquenchable desire to understand a topic or component of what I’m incorporating into my creative work. #duedilligence Phineas has fascinated me for years. He is considered one of the first patients of modern day neurosurgery & science; no small part due to the serendipitous (& let’s be honest - privileged) hand he was dealt with the leaders of his medical care considering the time he experienced his life & personality changing injury was in the late 1800s. I hate to say ‘Google it’ but I wouldn’t do his story justice & there is actually some rad info-about-the-brain podcasts that dive into his story that are valuable for any kind of introspection into our grey matter. At the time there was some really fuct up ideas about intellect that were perpetuated by racism & Phineas’ story did help fracture part of that. RIP Phineas. Altho your skull can’t because it’s on display at the Warren Anatomical Museum. SKULL & HEADPHONES When I joined IG a few years ago I randomly picked a picture that I thought represented my two main interests and the things I would post on my page. It was a skull with headphones signifying my love for Hiphop music and Horror movies. Since then that image and concept has taken on a life of it's own and been replicated by numerous artists. I've showcased those different pieces as well as used them as my profile pic. This one is a little different though. One of my favorite people on IG and someone who is beautiful and extremely talented decided to do her rendition in the style that she excels in called Inkdot Art. I think it turned out extremely dope and I love the detail she used throughout and am truly greatful that she would take the time to create something so cool in my image. Her name is Hailey Dawn and her IG is @aytch_d (get it? Lol) and she is a gifted woman in many ways. We originally bonded on our love for the local hiphop scene which she happens to have a brother that is part of named Stretch 9. Then I found out how creative she is and all the things she's involved in.
