OPINION: These are my top 10 ideal free agent targets for the Philadelphia Eagles this off-season. Remember that these are not the best players, they are players I think would be the most realistic options in my opinion for the team. 1: L’Jarius Sneed- We’ve all seen the rumors and reports going around, and we should all be cautiously optimistic. Sneed is a top corner in the league and would be a HUGE addition to the Eagles secondary. 2: Bryce Huff- This one may or may not come as a surprise to some, but I am a HUGE Bryce Huff fan. 10 sacks last season as a rotational pass rusher for the Jets, got pressure consistently when on the field. I think if given majority of reps, he will be a monster in the league. 3: D’Andre Swift- We all saw what he was capable of last season, and he still didn’t get nearly enough touches. Plain and simple Howie, resign your RB. 4: Brandon Graham- Pretty straightforward one here. He already announced he wants one more run and is willing to play for pretty cheap for the Birds. Still effective in pass rush, obvious resign. 5: Tyler Boyd- I think we can all agree that the Eagles have a serious need at WR3. Julio Jones, Quez Watkins, Olamide Zaccheus aren’t going to cut it. Why not go out and sign a guy with sure hands and experience in the league? 6: Frankie Luvu- A bit of a weird one here, had a down year this past season, but was a force the year prior. Very good pass rushing and coverage combo, wouldn’t be too pricey. 7: Blake Cashman- In my opinion, the most under the radar LB in the free agency pool. He had a great year with Houston last season, and would be an awesome addition to the Eagles LB room that desperately needs help. 8: CJ Gardner Johnson- A controversial one here, but I was a huge fan of CJGJ when he was with the Eagles. Missed a good chunk of last season with an injury and never really got his feet under him when he came back, I’d like to see Howie kick the tires on him again. 9: Eddie Jackson- Yes, I know, another secondary player past their prime signing with Philly. I’m honestly not sure what Jackson has left, but I wouldn’t hate the Eagles seeing what he has in the tank. *Continued in comments*

RUMORS: The odds are “stacked against” the Eagles resigning D’andre Swift this off-season. Unfortunate but expected outcome as the Eagles typically don’t resign RBs. What could’ve been if the Eagles used Swift right.
RUMORS: Current Colts and former Lions OC Jim Bob Cooter is a name that could be “in play” for the Eagles OC position, if Brian Johnson is not retained. Cooter spent this past season in Indy, could be an interesting fit. Wouldn’t personally be my top choice but it’s a name to look out for.
The Eagles have signed former Browns WR Austin Watkins to a reserve/futures contract. At 6’3 210 LBs, Watkins has an intriguing build with good game film from last preseason. He will be competing for a roster spot over the summer.
UPDATE: Eagles CB Darius Slay says that while he injured his back during the wildcard loss to the Bucs, the injury is not serious and he is expected to miss 3-4 weeks. Great news for the Eagles veteran as he expects to enter next season once again as Philly’s CB1.

A report released earlier this morning from The Inquirer’s Jeff McLane, regarding Eagles QB Jalen Hurts: Some Eagles leaders have been having “difficult conversations” with Jalen Hurts. Some sources suggested his even keeled nature has not helped the recent tailspin. They want him to show more emotion, and captains like Brandon Graham have spoken to Hurts about how to control the narrative about his sideline demeanor. Some say Hurts is difficult to approach, including an admission from rookie QB Tanner McKee that he initially felt obligated to ask Hurts for pointers and advice and rarely hangs out with him outside of practice. Hurts has been given a lot of freedom to check plays at the line of scrimmage. In Week 4 against Washington, he checked into a go route to AJ Brown that resulted in a touchdown. Sirianni and Johnson were trying to control and run out the clock. It probably goes without saying that’s not the greatest story to come out immediately before a playoff game.
