Sadly, last week we farewelled a much loved member of the #SJJAFamily - My mate Palmer.😭 He was a great bloke. Always a big smile, happy to be on the mats and bringing that infectious enthusiasm to training. 🤼♂️He had a gentle, caring nature & a great affinity with animals (both on and off the mats😉). I had the honour of receiving my purple belt today from Professor Bruno Alves🥋. Lots of blood🩸, sweat 💦and tears 🤕goes into turning a belt from blue to purple. Everyone's progression in Jiu Jitsu is different. For me this represents 5+ years of my life and almost 1,000 hours on the mats🤼♂️. The more time you spend in healthy environments and surrounding yourself with the right people the more you progress and grow 📈 And the more peaceful and less chaotic your life becomes.🧘♂️ I've trained multiple martial arts in multiple countries and I've never found a club as welcoming, supportive and encouraging as the SJJA Family. Incredible instructors. Our kids achieved amazing feats at the NSW State Championships on the weekend! There were some really tough matches, and our kids maintained control and kept calm.
