Our hometown, Uvalde (south Texas) is one of the many (most) of Texas that is under a winter effect. We have never experienced cold weather like this. We spend our summers in 110+° and our winters in 35+°. We saw 1” of snow in 2017 and before that, the last time we saw snow was is 1985. The night before last we got 6” of snow, haven’t had power/water for 36 hours and don’t expect to have it again for another 48 hours. Iced over roads, broken pipes, freezing temps inside homes. Happy June everyone! I know it’s always awhile before I post now. I’m really just enjoying life now that I really have reason to enjoy life. Be happy for me. I’m in the most loving and blessed relationship of my life and it’s the last one I ever want to be in. Today marks @sheila_reyes_22 and I 6 month anniversary and it’s been literally the best days of my life. Bruh, idc what y’all say about Plasti-dip. Saying it’s a fake mod, that it’s cheap and I should powdercoat instead, nah. Dipping the barrels black was $10 😂 screw $100s in powdercoat for a part of the car that’s like not even a focus. You’ll never see the silver once the tires are on. The insides were like stained so I didn’t really bother cleaning them much. Just surface dirt. You know, standing in the cockpit was cool to do when I had no windshield. And then just stepping into the car with no roof was sick. But now being able to be in the engine bay is rad. So it’s been super freezing cold for Texas this past week or so. I mean in the 40s and 50s (Fahrenheit). We spend about 8 months of the year in summer 110+ degrees. So I haven’t even gone to look at the car since I cut the front end off. But, I did check to see how much the tubular front end weighed compared to the oem front end. 18lbs lighter! That’s crazy! I still need to find out how much lighter the k member is compared to the the oem ones as well. And also the A-arms too. A little update on all of the projects: So I finally have all my wheel faces and lips back from the paint shop. Will most likely be preparing for assembly this week. [Quick disclosure: these are a bitch to disassemble] I do still need to dip (YES I SAID DIP AS IN PLASTI-DIP) the barrels black. In case of any grease leakage/brake dust flying around, I want the barrels to look like nothing is on them. Besides the gold candy is the main focus of the wheels themselves. As soon as I have them assembled, I will throw the tires on them and possibly do a test fit (on the black mustang) so I can get a sense of how much wider the SNF-314 will actually be nearing the end. I have a few cosmetic upgrades for the daily as well that need to be installed. And then more body and suspension work for the black mustang. So I actually do need to start getting to work on all of the cars. Btw, currently looking for another project build 😂 as if I don’t have the time for them already, but a 100% completely different platform and style. I’m probably gonna be picking up a working trans this week[end] from a follower in the area 💆🏽♂️ Super stoked on a helluva deal for real. Maybe buy the @flamingriverusa manual steering conversion kit by the end of next month or so. Then a trans cooler and smaller radiator to work with the new setup. Good News: She moves again!! Bad News: Only in Reverse. Long story short, I’m pretty sure I ran the transmission dry, since it sat for a month, slowly leaking trans fluid from who knows where. And by the time I realized it, the car never caught gear again for D, 2, and 1. Only R. Sooooo, she’s gonna sit for some time again. But I’ll get busy doing some more work again. Need to pull the motor, clean up the bay, drop the trans (replace or rebuild), and throw on some paint. Been needing to do it anyways, this is just the main excuse now to actually get to work again. So, here we go again with the build process. Expect to see some “under the hood” work being done for awhile. Never done it before, so it’s a huge learning process for me and I’m happy to start. Looking over parts and paint codes today for the future of this build. Got a lot going thru my mind right now. Nothing bad. All good. It’s 2019, it’s been a blessed year for me, not gonna lie. Not trying to brag or anything, I try to be as humble as I can, but I literally came up from rock bottom too, and I’m proud of myself for that. A deep depression. A dead-end, minimum wage, hard labor job. Failing out of college. Moving back home where I had no friends and my ex had just left me. Aye I mean 5 years, changed me a lot. And it’s because, once I got out of the pit, I was stuck in a spot where I felt like it was just “good enough” and my mom would get after me for not trying to better myself. She told me “you know what you’re dad did when he was your age? He hustled. He hustled to make a life for himself, for him and his wife, for his family and he still does to this day. You need to learn the hustle”. Those words changed my take on life. I never post about family, or my parents, because I just like privacy and don’t feel everyone gotta know our business. But since that day, I took after my dad, and I been hustling since last year and my life has changed in so many ways for the better. 2019 is my year. And 2020. And 2021. And every year after that and so on. Very thankful to have my parents and appreciate all they’ve done for me and taught me to be the man I am today. ❤️
