5230. “I went on YouTube, I typed in “Uber” and about 80% of the videos that came up were just fighting and arguing between the driver and the passenger, which completely contradicted my reality which was I was having positive, funny, interesting, deep conversations with total strangers.” Throughout his 20s, Daniel Shachory hitchhiked through 34 countries on 4 different continents. Therefore, when he began driving for @uber 2 years ago, he already loved connecting with strangers. At first, he just needed a job, but quickly realized that he was able to explore new areas, set his own schedule and inspire others. Southern hospitality is real! Yesterday was one of the best days I’ve had so far in Mississippi!!👌 Everyone in this photo was a stranger to me until very recently. 🤝 However, I met everyone here after a series of lucky coincidences and spent the day yesterday with them doing a number of things: 👉Eating Mexican food 🌯 👉Driving around looking at old antebellum homes 🏡 👉 Exploring an old cemetery 🪦 👉Hearing them imitate a “valley girl” accent 😂 👉 Being educated on Southern slangs, culture, and way of life 🗣 I look forward to making the video about it, but in the meantime just wanted to say thank you. ❤️ It means the world to me that y’all took the time to welcome me and show me around! Say hi to strangers! 👋 I don’t know if it’s taught in schools or by parents. 🤷♂️ Or maybe both. In my experience, saying hi to strangers on the street is more common here than other parts of America. I was just waking to my car last night when I saw these ladies. So, of course I said hi and smiled at them. 😄 They did the same and somehow that turned into a 20 minute conversation. They were so sweet and kind and I LOVED their accents. 🙌 I walked away with a smile on my face thinking how nice of an interaction that was. 😇 But not before turning around to tell them how much I enjoyed talking to them and asking for a photo! 📸 And I’ll say it again! I loved meeting @shunieb @ravenlatrease @_iambeautiful14. Y’all are awesome! ❤️
