Why does no one talk about this? Building wealth isnβt a sprint; itβs a marathon. Itβs easy to get lost in the desire for instant success, but remember β just like patient care, true growth happens over time and with consistent effort. Especially for us in the nursing field, amidst the chaos and long shifts, itβs essential to approach wealth-building step by step, so we donβt feel overwhelmed. Hereβs a simplified roadmap for my fellow nurses to start building wealth: πΉ Set Clear Goals: Know what youβre aiming for. Is it a home, retirement, or just a safety net? πΉ Start with Budgeting: Track income and expenses. Save where possible. πΉ Emergency Fund First: Aim for 3-6 months of expenses. This is your safety cushion. πΉ Utilize Employer Benefits: Max out employer-matching retirement funds if available. πΉ Educate Yourself: Read books or take online courses on basic finance and investing. πΉ Avoid High-Interest Debt: Pay off credit cards and avoid accumulating high-interest debts. πΉ Invest Consistently: Even a small amount monthly can grow significantly over time. πΉ Find a Money Mentor: Seek someone who can guide you, sharing their knowledge and experience. πΉ Network with Fellow Nurses: Share tips, insights, and learn from each otherβs financial journeys. πΉ Stay Patient and Persistent: Wealth isnβt built overnight. Celebrate small victories and keep pushing forward. Remember, itβs not about the rush; itβs about steady progress. With each shift and each saved dollar, youβre getting closer to your dreams. Keep going, one step at a time! ππ½ππ½ππ½ If youβre looking for a group mentorship program specifically designed to help you build wealth as a nurse then send me a DM to find out if youβre the right fit πΈ. #wealthynurse #nurseinvestor #nursemoney #travelnurse #nursepractitioner #moneycoach #moneymentor
The Silent Power of True Wealth πΈ In todayβs world of instant gratification and social media highlights, itβs easy to confuse being βrichβ with being βwealthyβ. At first glance, they may seem the same, but dig a little deeper and youβll find a significant difference. Being rich is about the here and now. Itβs the flashy cars, the designer brands, the over the top vacations splashed across Instagram feeds. Itβs about showing the world what you have, often with a sense of urgency, as if to say, βLook at me, Iβve made it!β Thereβs no denying the pull of this lifestyle, and thereβs nothing inherently wrong with enjoying the fruits of oneβs labor. But βrichnessβ can be fleeting. Itβs a state that can come and go with the ebb and flow of income, market trends, and lifeβs unpredictable turns. Wealth, on the other hand, is silent power. Itβs not just about having money, but about keeping it, growing it, and using it wisely. Itβs the comfort of knowing that youβre set for the future, that youβve built a legacy that can weather storms and stand the test of time. Wealth doesnβt need to shout; it whispers in the security of a debt-free life, the freedom to pursue passions without financial constraints, and the ability to help others without a second thought. Itβs about making money work for you, rather than you working endlessly for money. While being rich might get you the spotlight, being wealthy earns you peace of mind. Itβs the difference between living for the moment and planning for a lifetime. So, next time you scroll through your feed and see the glitz and glamour, remember: true wealth often lies in the shadows, quietly building a foundation that lasts. Type βwealthβ below if youβre after long term financial peace and share ONE thing youβre doing to get there. Save this post when you check your 401k or 403b π. π₯ As a financial coach for nurses, I understand that checking your 401k can feel intimidating and overwhelming. But fear not, because today I want to shed light on why you might be hesitant and guide you on what to keep an eye out for when you finally take that courageous step. Save this post so that you donβt miss out on anything that could be detrminetal on building up your nest egg. Hereβs why you might be too nervous to check: 1οΈβ£ Uncertainty about the numbers: Itβs natural to feel apprehensive about facing the figures in your 401k. But remember, knowledge is power. By checking your account, you gain valuable insight into your financial future and can make informed decisions to strengthen it. 2οΈβ£ Fear of market volatility: Nurses, like anyone else, may worry about the ups and downs of the market. However, itβs crucial to remember that investments experience fluctuations, and riding out the waves is often the best strategy for long-term growth. Keep an eye on overall trends and avoid knee-jerk reactions to short-term market movements. 3οΈβ£ Lack of financial confidence: Many nurses are focused on their demanding jobs and may feel uncertain about finances. However, taking control of your finances and understanding your 401k is a powerful step towards financial independence. 4οΈβ£ Concerns about retirement readiness: Retirement planning can be a daunting task for nurses, who often dedicate themselves to caring for others. But checking your 401k regularly allows you to gauge your progress, adjust your savings strategy if needed, and ensure youβre on track to enjoy a comfortable retirement. ππ½ππ½ππ½ππ½ Want my help in translating what you see inside your 401k or 403b? π The Best Financial Lesson My Mom Taught Me π My mom often says, βYou canβt take your money with you when youβre dead.β As Iβve journeyed through life, Iβve realized the profound depth of her words. She was teaching me a valuable lesson about finding balance in financial success and enjoying the present moment. βοΈ In a world obsessed with accumulating wealth and planning for the future, my momβs words serve as a gentle reminder that life is not just about amassing a fortune. Itβs about cherishing the experiences, the relationships, and the joy that money can provide here and now. π We tell ourselves that weβll start living our dream life when we reach a certain milestone or accumulate a particular amount in our bank accounts. But my momβs lesson shines a light on the fallacy of this thinking. βοΈ My momβs lesson reminds me to balance financial responsibility and enjoying the present. Itβs about taking that dream vacation, sharing memorable moments with loved ones, and indulging in the little pleasures that make life worthwhile. This photo was taken when my sister, mom, and I traveled through London, Paris, Venice, & Rome. Those memories we made I will cherish forever, and I can never place a price tag on those moments. β° So, if you are caught in the cycle of waiting to enjoy your money, remember my momβs sage advice. Embrace the present, cherish the moments, and savor the rewards of your hard work. Find that delicate balance between planning for the future and living a life worth celebrating. π« In the end, itβs not the size of our bank accounts that matters, but the richness of our experiences and the legacy of love we leave behind. π°π‘π #wealthbuilding #nurselife #nursecoach #nursesofinstagram #nursewellness #health #lifecoachfornurses #healthyandwealthy #wealthynurse #rnlife #nursegoals #nursegrind #nurserule #nurserocks #nursenotes #nursegram #newnurse #travelnursing #proudnurse #nursesrule #instanursing
π©π»ββοΈπ Nurses week is a confusing time for nurses... I know it was for me when I was working a clinical role. On one hand, youβre celebrated for your compassion and care, but on the other hand, there are many ironies associated with Nurses Week that make it difficult to truly feel appreciated. For instance, nurses are often overworked and underpaid, yet youβre expected to smile and accept the small tokens of appreciation you receive during this week. 10% off here, $5 Starbucks gift cards, a slice of pizza, or a dozen doughnutsππ©β. Many healthcare organizations may use Nurses Week as an opportunity for public relations, but fail to provide adequate support or resources for their nurses throughout the year π₯βπ°. With all these ironies, itβs understandable to question if Nurses Week is even worth celebrating. β‘οΈ However, I believe that the recognition and appreciation we receive during this week are still important. It serves as a reminder to the general public of the critical role we play in the healthcare system, and itβs a chance for us to advocate for the changes needed to make jobs better. ππ½ππ½ππ½ But it shouldnβt stop there. We need to continue the conversations and push for changes in the healthcare system beyond this week. You deserve more than just a week of appreciation; you deserve fair compensation, safe work environments, and adequate resources to provide the best care possible for you patientsπͺπΌπ₯. Iβd love to hear your thoughts on the matter. Do you think Nurses Week is worth celebrating? Why or why not? Letβs continue the conversation in the comments below. π¬π #NursesWeek #RealTalk #wealthbuilding #nurselife #nursecoach #nursesofinstagram #nursewellness #health #lifecoachfornurses #healthyandwealthy #wealthynurse #rnlife #nursegoals #nursegrind #nurserule #nurserocks #nursenotes #nursegram #newnurse #travelnursing #proudnurse #nursesrule #instanursing
π π»ββοΈWhat nurses are getting all wrong... During my NurseCon week, I got to speak to and learn from many nurses and hear their thoughts and ideas about retirement & investing. Swipe through the post to hear the most common things I heard over and over that are arenβt necessarily true and prevent nurses from building wealth. Now let me break down here why these things are false. π΅ 1. The term βfinancial advisorβ doesnβt mean anything. You think you may be speaking to someone who wants to help you, but it could be just a salesperson trying to sell you something you donβt need. πΈ 2. You know how we say discharge planning starts as soon as the patient is admitted? Similar idea with retirement. You should start planning as soon as you start working. π°3. For most nurses contributing up to your employerβs company match for you retirement account isnβt enough. The more you can contribute, the better. π€ 4. Investing happens so you CAN make more money; you donβt wait until you have more money to invest. ππ½ππ½ππ½ Want help with investing? β America wasnβt it for me. As I progressed towards financial freedom and retiring early, it had become apparent that I wouldnβt want to spend my early retirement years in America. But I had to test this theory first π. Thatβs when Australia came into the picture. Our aggressive savings and investments over 5 years afforded my husband and me the luxury to do three things: 1οΈβ£I could retire from bedside nursing & run my business full-time from anywhere in the world π. 2οΈβ£My husband, Harrison, could pursue his dream role in his dream country, Sydney, Australia π¦πΊ. 3οΈβ£We both could chase after our professional dreams all while testing out our early retirement theory of living outside of America. Hereβs how we managed it financially: ππ½Over the past 5 years, our savings rate has ranged from 30% upwards of 60% of our income. ππ½That money has gone towards savings and investments. And more importantly, has afforded us the ability to go all in on our dreams without worrying about money. ππ½ My husbandβs employer covered all the legal & logistical costs of actually becoming expats. Officially, our visa allows us here for 2 years, and we are six months into this adventure. So far, my husband and I love it. And are exploring the process of becoming dual citizens πΊπΈπ¦πΊ. Curious about how you can start investing? Curious about how you can create your financial freedom journey? We reduced our taxable income by over $50,000. Swipe through to find out how we did it. So this means $50,000 of our income in 2022 was NOT taxed β¨πΈ. As in Uncle Sam ainβt touching it. π΅And more of our hard-earned income stays with us. Specifically, itβs going to keep growing in our investments. So, how can you start paying less taxes and reducing your taxable income in 2023? 1οΈβ£Contribute to a pre-tax retirement account: If your employer offers a 401(k) or 403(b) plan, consider contributing pre-tax dollars to reduce your taxable income. Especially if your hospital provides a matching incentive. 2οΈβ£Consider a Health Savings Account (HSA): If you have a high-deductible health plan, you may be eligible for an HSA. Contributions to an HSA are tax-deductible, and withdrawals for qualified medical expenses are tax-free. For 2023, the contribution limit for an HSA is $3,650 for individuals and $7,300 for families. πThese two places are a GREAT place to start. But there are definitely more areas you can save more taxes on π. ππ½ππ½ππ½ By the way, these are all the things Iβve taught nurses how to do inside βSimple Investing For Nurses,β where I walk them through the process of investing step-by-step while reducing their taxes. WHAT TO DO NEXT. Here are some steps you can take to bounce back from a financial mistake: ππ½Accept responsibility: The first step in bouncing back from a financial mistake is to take responsibility for it. ππ½Acknowledge what went wrong and how you contributed to the situation. By accepting responsibility, you can begin to move forward and make positive changes. ππ½Assess the damage: Take a look at the impact of the financial mistake. How much money did you lose? What are the consequences? Understanding the full extent of the damage can help you determine what steps you need to take to bounce back. ππ½Create a plan: Once you know the extent of the damage, create a plan to recover. This might involve cutting back on expenses, taking on extra work, or finding ways to increase your income. Make a realistic plan and stick to it. ππ½ Learn from the mistake: Every financial mistake is an opportunity to learn. Take some time to reflect on what went wrong and how you can avoid making the same mistake in the future. This might involve developing new habits, creating a budget, or seeking professional advice. ππ½Be patient and persistent: Bouncing back from a financial mistake takes time and persistence. Be patient with yourself and keep working towards your goals. Remember, small steps forward are better than no steps at all. πBouncing back from a financial mistake takes effort, but it is possible. ππ½ππ½ππ½ Want my help to get you back on track? Nurses, It's Time We Talk. π©Ίπ Every day, you step into hospitals, clinics, and homes, offering not just medical expertise but a comforting presence. Your role is so much more than charts, shifts, and vitals. But there's something we need to address: β‘οΈDesiring Better Compensation? You absolutely deserve it. Whether you're fresh out of nursing school or a seasoned RN, you don't owe anyone an explanation for wanting to make more money. Every extra shift, every overtime hour β they're all testament to your dedication. But if you dream of a bigger paycheck, that's okay. It's your right. β‘οΈBuilding Wealth? Yes, that's right. Financial stability and growth are essential for everyone. Just because you're in a helping profession doesn't mean you should be left behind. You don't need the whole world to understand or approve of your financial ambitions. Your vision for a comfortable future, perhaps even early retirement, is valid. β‘οΈA Life Beyond the Hospital? Your identity isn't just bound to your stethoscope and scrubs. If you have dreams outside of nursing β whether they're about traveling the world, starting a business, or simply living a life of luxury β you owe no explanations. And for those of you thinking, "How do I start?" I'm here to guide you. Let's break the mold, let's re-write your financial story, and let's work on increasing that net worth together. Why does no one talk about this? Building wealth isn't a sprint; it's a marathon. It's easy to get lost in the desire for instant success, but remember β just like patient care, true growth happens over time and with consistent effort. Especially for us in the nursing field, amidst the chaos and long shifts, it's essential to approach wealth-building step by step, so we don't feel overwhelmed. Here's a simplified roadmap for my fellow nurses to start building wealth: πΉ Set Clear Goals: Know what you're aiming for. Is it a home, retirement, or just a safety net? πΉ Start with Budgeting: Track income and expenses. Save where possible. πΉ Emergency Fund First: Aim for 3-6 months of expenses. This is your safety cushion. πΉ Utilize Employer Benefits: Max out employer-matching retirement funds if available. πΉ Educate Yourself: Read books or take online courses on basic finance and investing. πΉ Avoid High-Interest Debt: Pay off credit cards and avoid accumulating high-interest debts. πΉ Invest Consistently: Even a small amount monthly can grow significantly over time. πΉ Find a Money Mentor: Seek someone who can guide you, sharing their knowledge and experience. πΉ Network with Fellow Nurses: Share tips, insights, and learn from each other's financial journeys. πΉ Stay Patient and Persistent: Wealth isn't built overnight. Celebrate small victories and keep pushing forward. Remember, it's not about the rush; it's about steady progress. With each shift and each saved dollar, you're getting closer to your dreams. Keep going, one step at a time! ππ½ππ½ππ½ If youβre looking for a group mentorship program specifically designed to help you build wealth as a nurse then send me a DM to find out if youβre the right fit πΈ. #wealthynurse #nurseinvestor #nursemoney #travelnurse #nursepractitioner #moneycoach #moneymentor
The Silent Power of True Wealth πΈ In today's world of instant gratification and social media highlights, it's easy to confuse being 'rich' with being 'wealthy'. At first glance, they may seem the same, but dig a little deeper and you'll find a significant difference. Being rich is about the here and now. It's the flashy cars, the designer brands, the over the top vacations splashed across Instagram feeds. It's about showing the world what you have, often with a sense of urgency, as if to say, "Look at me, I've made it!" There's no denying the pull of this lifestyle, and there's nothing inherently wrong with enjoying the fruits of one's labor. But βrichnessβ can be fleeting. It's a state that can come and go with the ebb and flow of income, market trends, and life's unpredictable turns. Wealth, on the other hand, is silent power. It's not just about having money, but about keeping it, growing it, and using it wisely. It's the comfort of knowing that you're set for the future, that you've built a legacy that can weather storms and stand the test of time. Wealth doesn't need to shout; it whispers in the security of a debt-free life, the freedom to pursue passions without financial constraints, and the ability to help others without a second thought. It's about making money work for you, rather than you working endlessly for money. While being rich might get you the spotlight, being wealthy earns you peace of mind. It's the difference between living for the moment and planning for a lifetime. So, next time you scroll through your feed and see the glitz and glamour, remember: true wealth often lies in the shadows, quietly building a foundation that lasts. Type βwealthβ below if youβre after long term financial peace and share ONE thing youβre doing to get there. Share your experience with our community! #wealthynurse #travelnurses #nursepractitioner #nurseinvestor

But my mom's lesson shines a light on the fallacy of this thinking. βοΈ My mom's lesson reminds me to balance financial responsibility and enjoying the present. It's about taking that dream vacation, sharing memorable moments with loved ones, and indulging in the little pleasures that make life worthwhile. This photo was taken when my sister, mom, and I traveled through London, Paris, Venice, & Rome. Those memories we made I will cherish forever, and I can never place a price tag on those moments. β° So, if you are caught in the cycle of waiting to enjoy your money, remember my mom's sage advice. Embrace the present, cherish the moments, and savor the rewards of your hard work. Find that delicate balance between planning for the future and living a life worth celebrating. π« In the end, it's not the size of our bank accounts that matters, but the richness of our experiences and the legacy of love we leave behind. π°π‘π #wealthbuilding #nurselife #nursecoach #nursesofinstagram #nursewellness #health #lifecoachfornurses #healthyandwealthy #wealthynurse #rnlife #nursegoals #nursegrind #nurserule #nurserocks #nursenotes #nursegram #newnurse #travelnursing #proudnurse #nursesrule #instanursing
π©π»ββοΈπ Nurses week is a confusing time for nurses... I know it was for me when I was working a clinical role. On one hand, you're celebrated for your compassion and care, but on the other hand, there are many ironies associated with Nurses Week that make it difficult to truly feel appreciated. For instance, nurses are often overworked and underpaid, yet you're expected to smile and accept the small tokens of appreciation you receive during this week. With all these ironies, it's understandable to question if Nurses Week is even worth celebrating. β‘οΈ However, I believe that the recognition and appreciation we receive during this week are still important. It serves as a reminder to the general public of the critical role we play in the healthcare system, and it's a chance for us to advocate for the changes needed to make jobs better. ππ½ππ½ππ½ But it shouldn't stop there. We need to continue the conversations and push for changes in the healthcare system beyond this week. You deserve more than just a week of appreciation; you deserve fair compensation, safe work environments, and adequate resources to provide the best care possible for you patientsπͺπΌπ₯. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter. Do you think Nurses Week is worth celebrating? Why or why not? Let's continue the conversation in the comments below. π¬π #NursesWeek #RealTalk #wealthbuilding #nurselife #nursecoach #nursesofinstagram #nursewellness #health #lifecoachfornurses #healthyandwealthy #wealthynurse #rnlife #nursegoals #nursegrind #nurserule #nurserocks #nursenotes #nursegram #newnurse #travelnursing #proudnurse #nursesrule #instanursing
π π»ββοΈWhat nurses are getting all wrong... During my NurseCon week, I got to speak to and learn from many nurses and hear their thoughts and ideas about retirement & investing. Swipe through the post to hear the most common things I heard over and over that are aren't necessarily true and prevent nurses from building wealth. Now let me break down here why these things are false. π΅ 1. The term "financial advisor" doesn't mean anything. You think you may be speaking to someone who wants to help you, but it could be just a salesperson trying to sell you something you don't need. πΈ 2. You know how we say discharge planning starts as soon as the patient is admitted? Similar idea with retirement. You should start planning as soon as you start working. π°3. For most nurses contributing up to your employer's company match for you retirement account isn't enough. The more you can contribute, the better. π€ 4. Investing happens so you CAN make more money; you don't wait until you have more money to invest. ππ½ππ½ππ½ Want help with investing? β America wasn't it for me. As I progressed towards financial freedom and retiring early, it had become apparent that I wouldn't want to spend my early retirement years in America. But I had to test this theory first π. That's when Australia came into the picture. Here's how we managed it financially: ππ½Over the past 5 years, our savings rate has ranged from 30% upwards of 60% of our income. ππ½That money has gone towards savings and investments. And more importantly, has afforded us the ability to go all in on our dreams without worrying about money. ππ½ My husband's employer covered all the legal & logistical costs of actually becoming expats. Officially, our visa allows us here for 2 years, and we are six months into this adventure. So far, my husband and I love it. And are exploring the process of becoming dual citizens πΊπΈπ¦πΊ. Curious about how you can start investing? Curious about how you can create your financial freedom journey? Curious about how you can leave America and live where ever you want? ππ½ππ½ππ½ DM me the word "READY," and I can help you get started. #wealthbuilding #nurselife #nursecoach #nursesofinstagram #nursewellness #health #lifecoachfornurses #healthyandwealthy #wealthynurse #rnlife #nursegoals #nursegrind #nurserule #nurserocks #nursenotes #nursegram #newnurse #travelnursing #proudnurse #nursesrule #instanursing
Nurses, today is my birthday π₯³π. πMake sure to swipe through the post! π«Άπ½πΏI want to thank every nurse who has worked with me this past year- it is truly an honor and privilege to help you reach your financial dreams. ππ½ππ½ππ½ If you are a nurse ready to take the next steps on your financial journey send me a DM with the word "READY" and I can see if I can help you. #wealthbuilding #nurselife #nursecoach #nursesofinstagram #nursewellness #health #lifecoachfornurses #healthyandwealthy #wealthynurse #rnlife #nursegoals #nursegrind #nurserule #nurserocks #nursenotes #nursegram #newnurse #travelnursing #proudnurse #nursesrule #instanursing
We reduced our taxable income by over $50,000. Swipe through to find out how we did it. So this means $50,000 of our income in 2022 was NOT taxed β¨πΈ. As in Uncle Sam ain't touching it. π΅And more of our hard-earned income stays with us. Specifically, it's going to keep growing in our investments. But there are definitely more areas you can save more taxes on π. ππ½ππ½ππ½ By the way, these are all the things I've taught nurses how to do inside "Simple Investing For Nurses," where I walk them through the process of investing step-by-step while reducing their taxes.
