I’ve Recovered. 3 days of flu, which I thought was actually hayfever. When you are riding a horse that’s using a metaphorical term of going going going on a deadline there’s adrenaline. . Once you’ve met deadline & stopped my body reacted to that and forced me to cancel everything. surrender & do less. . There was so many enticing offers for me to get involved in and I can and I’m glad I cancelled did because my health is my wealth and without it I can’t be my best self. . I remember the old part of me would feel maybe 20% better and then continue going on with life, but this version of me waiting till I feel 100% to get back on that horse again! . Rest is resistance, and I am resisting the things that I should be doing. Even when I had my work brain on, I had to check myself and actually give my brain some peace and quiet. . I was just listening to my body and checking in and I found that doing a breath of work practice restorative yoga has been really impactful to help me recover. I did a deep, relaxing, hot salt bath with a mixture of Epsom salts and Himalayan . I did energy work on myself. I took remedies I was hydrating. I took more fruits and these are just some of the way that I got my energy back cleared the stagnation and ultimately didn’t feel sorry for myself. . The old me would’ve spitted myself and that would’ve taken longerI remember with snap at people and just let this in a brat inside of me burst out. 40 years of living I’ve learned a lot and because I’ve got the most amazing tools I was able to really shift through this sickness to wellness again. . Me to practice what I preach and I’m grateful to myself for showing up for myself. The way I show up for anyone that comes to work with me. . But as of tomorrow, I feel fit to keep on moving! Thanks for everyone for checking in with me and showing me love. 💛Food of the week: SPAGHETTI SQUASH!⁠ ⁠ Winter Squash gets the “most creative” award in the squash family because when it’s cooked, the flesh turns into delicious noodle-y strands.⁠ ⁠ It’s low in calories, high in fiber, and contains lots of vitamin C, B vitamins, and antioxidants — and makes for a super delicious (and healthy!) alternative to pasta. ⁠ ⁠ It can seem a little intimidating the first time you make it, but it’s actually very simple.⁠ ⁠ Just slice it in half lengthwise (the hardest part of the prep), scoop out the seeds, drizzle each half with olive oil, and season with salt. ⁠ ⁠ Place the squash halves cut side down on a baking sheet and roast in the oven at 400ºF/200ºC for 40-45 minutes.⁠ ⁠ Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before scraping out the strands with a fork. Ingredients: 1¾ lbs. boneless beef chuck, cut into strips ½ cup reduced-sodium beef stock, divided ¾ tsp salt 5 cups button mushrooms, cut into quarters ¼ cup low-fat cream cheese 1 tbsp yellow mustard 1 cup red radishes, sliced thin Directions: 1.Season beef with a ¼ teaspoon salt. 2. Sear the beef over high heat in a dry nonstick skillet until well-browned. 3. Add a ¼ cup of beef stock and bring to a boil. Once boiling, transfer beef and any remaining liquid to a slow cooker. 4. Cook on high for 1½ hours. 5. Using the same skillet, cook the mushrooms in a ¼ cup beef stock until mushrooms are tender and all liquid has evaporated. 6. After beef has cooked, stir in the mushrooms, cream cheese, and mustard. Allow to sit in the slow cooker, covered, for about 10 minutes to heat through. 7. Top Tip Tuesday Evening Routine Protocol! We talk a lot about morning routines. Evening routines are as, if not more important. Getting a good nights sleep, waking up with energy to attack the day, having a plan for the day ahead builds momentum. Here are 4 Tips I recommend. 1.) Have a Hard Stop to your work day. At least 2 hours before bed, to allow enough time to wind down, switch off and to ensure you have offloaded your thoughts with work and set out your plan for the next day. This gives you enough time to spend some quality time being present with family. 2.) Follow the 10/3/2/1 principle. 10 hours before bed - stop caffeine 3 hours before bed stop eating 2 before bed - stop working 1 hour before bed - stop screen time 3.) Get out of your head. 
This could be journaling, a gratitude exercise, a brain dump to offload your thoughts onto paper. There is no right or wrong process. Find what works for you. I will often write 3 little wins from the day which helps build momentum. 4.) Last hour before bed. Do something Hot. A sauna, bath or hot shower. Have a cool bedroom. Low lighting or candles Ideally no screens (certainly no social media) but if you’re starting out then maybe some light easy watching tv followed by some light reading. Life happens, meetings run over, we go out for dinners, some people have young kids etc etc. I get it, BUT let’s not use excuses and instead apply the 80/20 principle as much as possible to your week. Staying consistent with my wellness journey for my mind, body and soul, better for my physical and mental health outcomes, instead of just surviving, I’m thriving. ✨ I don’t have to feel like that girl on the right ever again! I wanted to take care of myself better to reduce being burnout, anxiety, depression, and disconnected from my body. I was beyond stressed out, not fueling my body with balance meals. I was-disgusted looking at myself in the mirror, how I let myself go that much from just life itself problems and playing the victim, honestly. Not happy, felt weak, not growing, just stuck in survival mode. When you know better, do better, so you can better version for yourself and others. Classic feast The most wonderful but simple steak tartare. It had all the classics. Just makes it that much better the Scottish beef! Asparagus, poached egg and smoked mackerel. Spring has some of the best ingredients asparagus being one of them. Lamb will be coming soon! Having a Growth Mindset About Your Relationship with Food. A lot of my clients recently want to be perfect all the time and we have to grow their relationship with food. When it comes to our relationship with food a growth mindset allows us to see that perfection is an unattainable goal. We are not defined by how we feel today, and we are constantly evolving and learning from our experiences. Practicing a growth mindset with food can look like this: “I can learn and make adjustments in my life that will move me forward to having a more peaceful and balanced relationship with food.” “My eating doesn’t have to be perfect. I am only human, and there is no such thing as being perfect.” It’s about believing in our ability to learn and make changes that will lead to a healthier relationship with food. It’s about accepting that our eating habits don’t have to be flawless because, in reality, perfection is a myth. So, challenge yourself to break some existing food rules that you may have placed on yourself. Start to trust yourself with being more in tune to what your body and mind really need and be open to finding new ways to improve your overall well-being and relationship with food. After all, if we’re not open to change, how will anything change? One powerful way to cultivate a growth mindset is through practicing gratitude. Each day, find one thing that you’re grateful for. It could be a small moment of joy, a kind gesture from a friend, or simply the opportunity to try again tomorrow. Empathy. Education. Results.
