And with this, my sweet little much-needed trip to #Punjab comes to an end! Some thoughts: The future might be different but traveling currently is kinda scary. U might be careful, following all SOPs ... but many people around u will be the idiots. And then, the plane itself: closed space, no ventilation and many human beings ... all in close proximity! Thats the reason the crew doesn’t even offer u snacks or food anymore. So yes, for now.... travel only if it’s essential! And please please, avoid taking kids along.... but if u must, then make sure u have a proper adult chat with your child. Saw so many kids throwing away their masks and mothers baby-talking them but then just giving up on them. Its insane and so damn irresponsible. And please, don’t use the excuse that Covid doesn’t happen to kids! #XpozeTravels

First ✈️ since the Pandemic started! Kinda 💩 scared but if its very essential, u gotta do what u gotta do! Here are some things i did to protect myself during the flight: ✅ Not flying with Nyle. Painful to leave him behind but didn’t want to take a risk. ✅ Covered my nose, mouth and eyes with a mask and my specs at all times: from the time I entered the airport to the time i landed ✅ Didn’t eat or drink throughout the flight ✅ Used sanitized wipes to clean my seat ✅ Didn’t use the washroom at the airport or in the plane ✅ Used a sanitizer at least 6 times in a 2 hr flight ✅ Got my luggage sanitized by the airport staff once i got to the airport and again when i landed at my destination airport (Special focus on sanitizing the wheels of the luggage) ✅ Refused to chat with my neighbour! ✅ Landed and immediately showered ... and got my clothes washed and then sanitized with Dettol right away! #XpozeTravels

Solo Mama-Son holiday: Its probably the best thing i have ever done as a mommy! I don’t know about u girls, but 80% of my everyday life is spent in anxiety, sorting out Nyle’s life (hence the freelance career!!) Making sure he’s eating healthy, sending him to school in a happy mood, school pickups, doing homework with him, extracurricular activities, playdates, making sure he gets only 30mins on the ipad, nice calm bath-time, book readings, sleeps on time and a zillion other things... which automatically turns me into a bad cop!! This holiday was meant to let go, take it easy and create memories! Yes we both missed the daddy ... but hey, we got to dance in the rain, spend hours in the pool, he ate nuggets and Nutella crepes every day (😳) and we made sandcastles by the ocean ... while i also got my fix of massages, got to eat gourmet food, stay up late, sleep-in, bond and gossip with friends (I love you Simi!) and best of all, didn’t get to scream even once at Nyle! He saw a new happy side of me... an unstressed mama who loves him to bits! Why #Srilanka ? I wanted him to be close to nature ... freak out seeing monitor-lizards, go for walks by the beach, touch and smell different tropical plants and not be distracted by big city commercialism! We didn’t watch TV, didn’t meet a single #Disney character and didn’t shop a thing for days! I tell you girls ... get up and go ... its absolutely worth it! Its the best thing you will do for yourself! And thank you so so much @villamaggona.srilanka ... you made it very very special!
