While all celebrants may share some similarities in terms of the services they provide, it’s important to understand that each celebrant is unique and may have their own approach, style, and specialities. Celebrants come from different backgrounds and may have varying levels of experience, training, and expertise. We all have different personal beliefs, cultural influences, and philosophies that shape how we approach our work. We are not all the same; we all look different, deal with our couples differently and even write differently. So my biggest tip would be to shop for your celebrant like you shop for your wedding dress or your venue. Find a few you like the look-off and have a chat with them all, see which one of us fits you perfectly. Your celebrant enters your lives for a short while so you need to be comfortable with them. We get booked up pretty quickly, so make sure that you add a celebrant to your important list of vendors to book first. Gotta love a smile A wedding day is always so much fun for everyone from the guests to the couple, and these guests were enjoying themselves at Liz and Matthews's wedding ceremony @Gordoncastle in July this year. I love to see everyone smiling and laughing during the ceremony, it means I’ve done my job right if the couple has asked for a light-hearted ceremony. I always ask my couples to keep their ceremony script a secret until the day so that no one but them knows what’s coming, and it works a treat. We get lovely smiley faces like these when we share the couple’s story with them. More Audrey Antics When I was creating Liz and Matthews's ceremony Liz had sent over some comments about both girls, including their favourite colours and toys/games etc which we were going to include in their ceremony. Audrey was in the front row on the wedding day, so I started to read out what mummy Liz had told me about her girls. And Audrey likes pink and unicorns... Toilet breaks Audrey was the youngest of Liz and Matthew's daughters at their wedding in July @gordoncastle She had us in stitches a couple of times in the ceremony. One being just before Liz and Matthew exchanged rings, she pipes up "Mummy I need the potty" (said in an American accent). So we stopped the ceremony whilst someone took her to the toilet. When she got back to her seat we carried on with the ring exchange. For Liz and Matthew's wedding in July @gordoncastle their 2 daughters Audrey and Ella were a huge part of their day. Their wedding ceremony wasn't about romance for Liz, it was celebrating their little family unit. I met the family face to face 4 days before the wedding, the rest had been done on zoom with them being in USA. Me and the girls clicked right off, they were funny. Audrey, the youngest, aske me if I was a boy or a girl, and then asked me if I was a mum or a nana, so sweet. Liz wanted Ella to do a reading in the ceremony. The girls favourite book is Love you to the moon and back, so Ella had been practising a few lines from it for months. But we were unsure if she would do it or not on the day, but she did. And so beautifully and Alison @alisonwhitephotographyuk captured it perfectly for us. Was lovely to get feedback on my wedding at Fochabers last weekend.
