The story revolves around a man who, following his sister’s suspicious death, decides to uncover the hidden truth, unleashing a torrent of chaos and terror. The film stars Sundar C, Tamannaah, Raashii Khanna, Santhosh Prathap, and Ramachandra Raju. The undeniable strength of this film lies in its humor, perfectly balanced and well-executed, without ever veering into excess. The film’s music, particularly the background score, is remarkably fitting and contributes to the ambiance. Hiphop Tamizha does a fantastic job in this regard. Tamannaah is also a positive element of the film, portraying a traditional and well-dressed role, far from the usual clichés of female representation in Sundar C’s films. Her character as a mother caring for her children in a saree, without showing off anything, is refreshing. Furthermore, the Baak theme explored in the film is an interesting novelty that adds depth to the story. The major weakness of this film lies in its mediocre cinematography and special effects, which detract from the overall visual experience. Additionally, the logic of the story leaves something to be desired, and the plot seems weak and unconvincing. Most notably, the Aranmanai series seems to be running out of steam and losing its appeal, as reflected in this fourth installment. Personally, I had no intention of watching this film, but I was influenced by the social media buzz. After seeing it, I question the merit of watching an Aranmanai film in theaters. The series has lost its sparkle after the first two films, and it’s time to put an end to its overhype and focus on more interesting and relevant projects. In conclusion, I cannot recommend this film to my friends. It’s time to stop supporting films that seem to take their audience for granted. #Aranmanai4 // 2024 Our Review: Before watching this film, I had absolutely no expectations because the story template of the prequels was the same, and I knew this would be another typical Aranmanai film. The story template was different from the prequels, but I was quite impressed with the so called villain. The visual effects have improved, and for a 20 crore budget, they look fantastic. The demon's narrative was quite intriguing, as was the puzzle solving. However, the largest flaw was the finale and comic moments, which were completely unnecessary. Overall, the film is an okay one-time watch. There is nothing wonderful or terrible. Just average. There were too many unnecessary scenes and the cringy comedies were not adding value for sure. You can count the funny scenes in total. The hype has entirely been centered around the cameo of Kushboo and Simran dancing for the Amman song. It was good, NGL but again, is that sufficient? Hiphop Tamizha stuns us with his songs and background score including the promo song ACHACHO. It was good enough to back the scenes in the film for sure. . .
