Now I know I don’t usually post anything this new-ish, but this was by far the most interesting thing I’ve seen at my CarMax dealership so far. This is a 2014 Holden Commodore or realistically, a Chevrolet SS. I have to say that seeing this confused me, and I’m not sure if this is an actual Holden or if it’s a Chevy SS with factory-ordered Holden badges, which in fact GM did offer its customers just that. I’m 60% sure it’s a Chevy SS with pre-installed Holden badges, but let me know what you guys think. This one has around 35k miles, and is being offered for about $28,998. As a lot of you may know, Holden announced today that General Motors will be killing the Holden brand in Australia and New Zealand, and many are saddened as a result. As the United States version of the Commodore, the Chevrolet SS Sedan arrived to the market for the 2014 model year (correct me if wrong) and lasted up until the 2017 model year. Many enthusiasts were thrilled regarding the arrival of the sports sedan, but despite this, the SS failed in the market, leading to its demise. I have to say it makes me sad how people overlook some great vehicles, but of course, I don’t think that’s going to change anytime soon for us Americans. Under the hood of this sleeper lies a monstrous 6.2L V8 producing 415 horsepower. A manual transmission was available for the SS, but this one did come with a 6-speed automatic. All of this power launches the car from 0-60 in about 4.6 seconds, and it’s easy to see why a lot of people call this the “Camaro with 4 doors.” Of course, with that being said, gas mileage is well...horrible, at 14 city 21 highway, but it’s pretty obvious you don’t buy an SS for fuel efficiency. I love the SS’s styling, and you can notice the blend of European sports sedan and American muscle.
