Sticky beak at the ensuite, sink nook + bathroom. The ensuite was about 30 years old with the burgundy + cream tile thing going on. So we zooshed with marble, underfloor heating + heated brass towel rails. The sink nook had a Union Jack on the vanity which was pretty cute but not very me. We added the timber panelling, shelf+ and sweet sink + tap -it has a mud room feel. Also the drop light + a pull cord. And the bathroom was pretty done, we just replaced the tapware with brass. I love the emerald green tiles + the clawfoot bath. Which one is your fav space? The bedroom wallpaper was already hanging ~Catherine Martin’s design (she creates beautifully + happens to have Baz Luhrmann as a husband). There is also wallpaper in the parent retreat which is embossed like pressed metal - we painted over it with the Arctic Blue from Porters + it came up a real treat. I sourced the fabric from @the_merchants_warehouse, the great antique place at Annandale plus the gorgeous walnut ‘breakfast’ table (so appropriately named!) from there too. It’s a 1850’s oval table - absolutely made for the space + a very exciting find!! This little arrangement is at the entry to Mabel’s Cottage from the driveway. Dad constructed the table from bibs + bobs + I was with him + mum at an antique auction over 20 yrs ago when I bought the shelf. It apparently started life as a Tibetan prayer stool. This is at the door in from the side veranda + from the driveway - this is the door we use the most. We hung the shelf - it was a Tibetan prayer stool that I bought at an antique auction more than twenty years ago. It used to be by our claw foot bath + when the kids were toddlers I used it for bathing them. It’s now on its side + screwed onto the wall with hooks added. Dad was a farmer + liked to tinker in the shed- the entry table @mabelscottageberry is one of his gems - a combination of many things put together with the lovely old marble as the starting point. Dads passing anniversary is this week - he was 97 when we lost him + he would have turned 100 last month.
