A partial rebuild of the cable reeve cage on a roll off dumpster truck. The hydraulic cylinders push the cable reeves which slide through C-channels in the cage and tension the cables to pull the dumpster on and lower off the truck. One of the reeve blocks was worn and slid off track and damaged the cage. This was supposedly repaired by someone else and now it’s in front of me. I cut the cage apart. Customer pulled the hydraulic cylinders and replace both reeve blocks and installed them back on. I rebuilt the cage and tracks and welded it in place. Bottom of the 12” pipe I didn’t want to try to fit it to the other pipe so I made a little stub pipe to fit which was way easier then trying to jimmy the main pipe into position and fit me having no knowledge of that stuff made it easier for me to do wanted to go straight into it at a 90 but decided not to copied as close as I could to the old timers cut as I could came out pretty good got it fitted with what I was comfortable with and tacked it up and went to town with the glue gun had to fill a bit more gap then liked to but in the end I was able to get a minimum of 3 passes around the outside and since the stub was short I was able to weld on the inside of the pipe as well then I had some sleeves made for each end was there another weld to make at each yes faster idk I don’t like fitting the pipe up it takes a good amount of time to get it just right I felt running the sleeve would make for a quick fit and then I could weld away on it same deal 3 passes of 7018 I’ll say this much my big blue runs just a bit smoother the the ol 225 bobcat added 4 2” hydrants along the way up the hill as well @millerwelders #bigblueairpak #bobcat225nt #pipe #12” #weld #welding #burningrodsallday #burningrods #7018 #powerofblue #minnesota #skihill #weldingandrepair

Well this was last weeks project a whole lot of welding with @fischer_welding we both pounded out 4 6’x7’ outrigger pads made from 28 pieces of 6x3 rectangle tube @fischer_welding had put the first pass in the gut once he was done I went over with 2 top cover passes of #fabcoredge awesome wire to run basically took a full spool to a side so two rolls of wire per pad that I put down capped with some 1/4” plate and then any project of mine just can’t be finished without burning some 7018 which I used to attach the D-rings on and I had remembered that @ddemoise had used the track torch to make the same pads I didn’t have the actual track mig gun but I did have to hose clamps and a hold function on my feeder box even got to experience my first case of arc eye never want to have that again @miller_welders @hobartwelders #welding #weldingfordays #mig #slingingwire #trackwelding #inlinewelding #bigblue #bigblueairpak #crane #cranepads #outriggerpads

From last week. Tiny homes! This job has finally began after months of planning and print reading. Welded some roof brackets onto this container home because the manufacturer forgot too. Not part of my original scope of work but always happy to help to keep the project moving forward. A little beef up on the roto grind tub grinder the entire unit is made from 1/8” material I’m guessing kinda silly imo but took all the flimsy material off ramp and installed 1/4” glued back together with the @miller_welders #millermatic211 that day I had to take off and go untwist the 45’ marker arm on the 90’ corn planter so finally after alot of other jobs in between finally got back to the roller mounts that the tub sits on and rolls on that where cracked pretty badly air arced the angle irons on backside off cleaned the area off already had plates cut to size marked holes for mounting bolts and cut and the glued on before hand I had ground out the crack on front side and after plate was on in back welded up crack in both locations and ground away the weld metal to mount roller shafts and remounted called it a day #welder #weld #weldrepair #mig #millermatic211 powered by the #bigblueairpak #intheshedrepair #raindayjob #onsiterepair #farm #farmrepair
Not an easy repair. I got called out to do an emergency repair on a wood processor at a recycling facility mid last week. Turns out the night before a fork lift blade found it’s way in unnoticed and did some severe amount of damage. Among the damage it tore the 1.5” solid square bar screen out half way. After lock out/tag out procedures were in place I got underway with the repair. My job was to get inside the machine and cut the damage section and fabricate a new section in place. All work was done on my back and around 2 feet of head room. Tight fit for torching, air arcing & welding. A long 10 hrs. of none stop work to get them back up and running before the next night shift. Working on a few final things before it goes on the road wiring up the front marker lights for the filler bed picked up this new wire tool yesterday from the #snaponman finally got my control labels for the boom decided the the metal the would be stuck on wasn’t fit so found a few scrap pieces of stainless steel and stuck them on there then I’ll either rivet or bolt them where I see fit still on the look for a Obs ford driver door the one on the truck is not so great and tried to wire in the air dryer on the #bigblueairpak but didn’t have any luck cause some of the wires are labeled differently then what they say in the directions so hopefully the friendly people at @miller_welders will be helpful on Monday to get that straightened out anyway hope everyone is having a great #saturday #spring #weld #welding #welder #millerwelder #worktruck #hopethisonelasts #longjohnsilver

Been looking for a big blue air pak for@4 years or so now. Finally found one thanks to @thedonniewadd. The deluxe model specifically, has 12v/24v jump start, 20kw 3 phase generator power, and AC capability, along with 750 amp capacity and 60 cfm screw compressor. This machine even has a desiccant dryer and auto drain system on it.
