37//90 Spices and berries and a lilting floral scent, @mrsmeyerscleanday Plum Berry is my hand soap jam (the website says “ripe fruits and purple roots,” and they would know! but I don’t know what that would smell like). There’s a hint of a nostalgic spice that’s somehow soothing and invigorating. I love this soap so much that I decided to make one of my refill bottles into my canvas for today’s bouquet. If I were granted three wishes for products from this company: scratch and sniff “testers” in order to be able to smell them all (gardenia? honeycomb? tomato vine?!), tablet refills for even less plastic and a true to life juicy violet. Most aspects of my garden are being planned to ensure a continuous cascade of colors and fragrances. I’ve already plotted out beds of perennial favourites. I’m now planting the first of my annual surprises, creating a patchwork of blooms that will dance through the seasons. Cornflower, strawflower, dahlia’s, cosmos, and zinnias for their voluptuous blooms; lavender, phlox and sweet peas for their irresistible fragrance. Tulips and daffodils because they are sensational. Each plant is chosen not just for its beauty, but for its ability to be cut and put in a gorgeous arrangement. Here’s a list of my annual seeds I’m currently planting (cool season seeds, see last post). I would like to plant more, but frankly if I buy more seeds my marriage might be over 😂 As mentioned I get my seeds/bulbs from a range of places. I also harvest from my own plants.
