Like carrying nine all natural colors of Brazilian Clay plus a few misfits wasn't enough... I just opened the new batch of pink and it is totally different than the one I have been carrying for a while. River bed harvested clay changes colors depending on season, also my smaller producers harvest on a few different areas, so unlike my larger producers that harvest enough to have a constant color, sometimes the clay they send me is a surprise. This "pink" is between the regular purple and red but it dries more pink. On first picture from left to right: old pink, new "pink", regular purple and red. Second picture from left to right: intense purple, purple, new pink and pink. Last picture is both pinks. I will add the new pink to my Misfit clay and try to get more of the light pink. “Crepey skin” refers to skin that looks thin, wrinkled, and similar in appearance to crepe paper. Causes include aging, UV radiation, excessive weight loss, lack of moisture, hormonal changes, pollution, stress, cigarette smoking and more. Basically crepey skin is almost unavoidable but while crepey skin can't be entirely reversed, there are steps you can take to make your skin firmer and smoother. Using great quality butters and oils will help - "as you age, your skin produces less oil than it did when you were younger. These oils create an important lipid barrier that protects your skin and helps seal in moisture". Massaging them onto your skin will strengthen muscle memory, spur collagen production and boost blood circulation, all of which will help with crepey skin. Exfoliation with a gentle scrub and good oil/butter will help to get rid of excess dead skin and clay masks may help detoxify and firm the brand new skin. One of the coolest, and most frustrating, parts of cold process soap is never really knowing the outcome of your colors. This is a fresh cut Cedar + Lavender bar which was colored with Purple Brazilian clay. The outside turned a gorgeous purple but the inside is... esthetically challenged at the moment. Less known cousin of Murumuru butter, it is also known for its silicone like properties, being perfect for protecting skin and hair. I use it in my balms, instead of murumuru, because it gives them a more translucid appearance that I like a LOT! The tucumã palm is a thorny lonely palm that grows in more open areas, the pulp is a very popular food in Manaus (a western area of the forest) and extremely rich in Beta Carotene.
