🤯 Our minds do what we tell them to 🤯 There was a time when I was waking up every morning hating my life. 😩 Facing a job I loathed; 💣 A boss I couldn’t stand; 👩 A role where I felt completely unfulfilled; 💵 And felt awfully underpaid for that horror I was living in. BUT having amazing colleagues (looking at all of you, my trauma-bond friends ❤️). Dreading every task, hating myself for not having the courage to quit and having constant looping thoughts: I need a break I hope she cancels our 1:1 I hate this job Why am I even doing this And you know what? That negativity didn’t just affect my mood — it made me physically sick. All the time. I maxed out my medical leave, lived with migraines and pains all over my body, and spent so much time visiting the doctors. Looking back now I completely understand: I ASKED FOR IT💡 Living with constant thoughts that “I need a break” made my body and mind work together to make it a reality. Just like I have asked. But here’s the silver lining: I broke free from that toxic cycle. Story time...(‼️Alert‼️ Its quiet long and deep, Read at your own risk‼️) This dress was once my favorite bodycon summer attire, back when I weighed under 60 kilograms. However, as my body changed, I couldn't wear it comfortably anymore due to my stomach and breast size. The constant inquiries about pregnancy only added to my discomfort. Naturally, if I were pregnant, I would proudly embrace it. But instead, I repurposed the dress as my night dress, and I felt beautiful going to bed knowing no one would judge me, and I could be myself. My point is; when we prioritize others' perspectives, we feel awkward and fail to appreciate ourselves.That's why I've decided to wear it out. If people make judgments or ask if I'm pregnant, I can confidently say no,and there's nothing wrong with that. It took me a while to accept this fact, but I now love my body from every angle, not because im leading a healthy lifestyle now; it's because im understanding the importance of acceptance and forgiveness in life. I think it's the effect of being 32 yrs. Hey, I'm Leah. I'm a yoga teacher, mum and animal lover... On a deeper level I'm an introvert, motivated and highly emotional. I also used to be extremely inflexible which is funny coming from a yoga teacher but I am definitely not hyper mobile and I hated sports as a kid. But I love yoga especially when I look back at how far I've come since practicing. I could barely touch my toes, I was extremely up and down in my moods and I wasn't coping great with motherhood and stress. As soon as I started practicing more often though the shift in energy was magnetic. My mood stayed pretty calm (obviously motherhood will always have some challenges) and I physically felt the best I had in years. And I'm here to share that with the world. I'm helping mums who feel like they are going to explode with rage find some calm moments and enjoy motherhood as best they can whilst feeling achievement though physical health. Being a mum can be the hardest job in the world BUT I can make it easier for you. In some of these pictures I’d starved myself for days to try and look good. In some, I’d spent the day loathing myself because I’d had lunch or not been to the gym. Crikey, I spent most of my wedding day fuming because my dress size wasn’t the one I wanted!! I feel so much sadness for that version of me. Today I skipped my long run. Actually I haven’t worked out since Wednesday because I was hoping the rest would make me well enough for the 31miles we had planned today. Mentally I was prepared. Physically I felt pants. But I Googled it and ignored all the articles telling me to listen to my body until I found one saying it was safe to go. Because if I didn’t? My plan would be off. I’d let my running partner down. The food I ate yesterday would be for nothing. And then I listened to my body, sent a grovelling cancellation text and got back into bed, much to the surprise of my husband who’s given up trying to rationalise with me when it comes to resting. I’ve always had a terrible relationship with food and exercise. I have to be so careful not to use exercise as a punishment and food as a reward. It’s hard. I’ve spent so many years hating my body, that to suddenly start being proud of what it does and not what it looks like is tough. A work in progress but a battle I will win. So when you’re watching your reels telling you to “never miss a workout” and the “only bad workout is the one you didn’t do” remember that sometimes it’s ok.
