โIn sickness and in healthโ Iโll be honest, this little phase held little meaning to me in my early twenties when I married my husband. I was young, fit, healthy and in my prime. Getting sick wasnโt even on the horizon. Iโve been married 23 years and during those years life has had its ups and downs. For the most part, Iโve been in good health. However, more recently and after the vaccine, Iโve had more sickness than health. There have been times when Iโve felt guilty. Especially when Iโve cancelled plans due to a migraine or when Iโve not cooked dinner because my legs would hurt from standing. When Iโve not made enough of an effort for a celebration because Iโve been consumed by pain or when we havenโt been able to travel because Iโve felt safer being at home. The reality is that when you get sick, it affects all the people around you and no one more than your spouse. This explains the importance of the vow โIn sickness and in healthโ. Getting sick isnโt something anyone can predict. Itโs not something which any of us want but it happens. Itโs one thing to be sick and navigating through it alone and another when you are fully supported with love, compassion and kindness. I look at my husband differently now. Things have changed for us in the past three years. I was genuinely at a point when I didnโt think I could love him any more. Then he went and proved me wrong! Every time he held my hand and accompanied me to a doctor's appointment, I felt more love. Every time I cried, felt hopeless and defeated and he gave me strength, I felt more love. Every time he smiled when I cancelled a plan and continued like it was no big deal, I felt more love. Every time I wanted to try a new treatment and he encouraged me, I felt more love. Every time I shared my vulnerability and he said โIn sickness and in healthโ, I felt more love. I refuse to give up on my health. I refuse to do anything which will hinder my healing because my husband deserves a healthy me. My kids deserve a healthy me. If you are on a healing journey, please donโt give up even on the days when it feels hard because your family deserves a healthy you, you deserve a healthy you! ๐งฟ

Hey my guys! As most of you already know Iโm back home, with no plans of relocating anytime soon (except maybe for some long holidays, you know me ๐). Iโve spent the weekend in Ras Al Khaimah. Many of you that have been living in UAE for a while have visited, perhaps for a staycay. But for those of you that havenโt yet ventured to the emirate, perhaps now is the right time. Ras Al Khaimah is known for its nature, leisure, adventure and authentic offerings. With an extraordinary history and huge tourism growth plan, travellers can choose from serene-spa-luxury to knee-trembling-adrenaline-adventures and anything in between.

Initially excited, we were surprised to find that all the savoury options consisted solely of filled pastries, lacking the expected variety with sandwiches. However, they were surprisingly light and delicate, with delicious fillings, defying our expectations of heaviness. With the sweet selection we were pleased to find a great variety, including plenty of fruity options that balanced richness and sweetness perfectly. The scones stole the show with their excellent textureโlight, fluffy, and wonderfully fresh. Accompanied by fantastic jam and salted caramel, the absence of lemon curd was a minor disappointment. The tea selection was extensive, although the lack of loose tea was unexpected for a high-end afternoon tea. Additionally, the restriction to only one cup, without refills, does not fit the price (280AED PP) Unfortunately, our excitement was dampened by the service. Despite booking the Turtle Afternoon Tea, we were presented with a Christmas menuโฆin February. Moreover, despite booking an outside table for views of the Burj Al Arab, our table was given away and we were sat indoors. Service throughout was slow and inattentive, with requests taking ages to fulfil and clutter left on our table. The AT at Al Nandhar offered some delightful surprises in terms of flavours and presentation, the experience was marred by the lack of sandwich options, disappointing service, and unexpected menu discrepancies. Look no further - @the.coterie.group puts on an OUTRAGEOUSLY good Sunday dinner ๐๐ซถ๐ป Firstly, the service was incredible - all the staff are SO friendly- for example, with my dessert I was unsure whether to get ice cream or custard, our waiter was SO lovely and insisted he brought out both - how attentive.. itโs the little things in life โจ๐ฅฎ๐จ!! The service was also speedy, no waiting around even though with this quality food we happily would- things we love to see. The food - wow, hooooonestly a 10/10 from all of us. @the.coterie.group have a reputation and you can see why- honestly this was like a taste of home for me ๐ฌ๐ง๐ซถ๐ป๐ฆ๐ช I went for a lamb roast (my fav) and it was cooked perfectly. The homemade yorkies and roasties were fluffy yet crispy, the gravy was really tasty too and Iโm not usually a gravy gal (criminal some say, I know) plenty of well cooked, seasoned and glazed roasted veg which is great to see as I love my veg on a Sunday dinner! We paid for the extra sides and would happily do so again- so worth it.
