The 2nd jam night at the @maxconvention was nothing short of magical ✨💖✨ to say that I was intimidated to face paint in this room full of industry legends is an understatement 😅 but I put my big girl panties on, sat by my friend and extremely talented artist Bethany of @hbartsint, and decided to just set up my paints and see what happened. I brought some Bubble Pop (face paint bling) with me to gift, and challenged myself to paint a matching design for whatever anyone chose (mine were the blue rose and skull…the epic sunflower ones were crafted by the one and only Julie Lail of @moxie_facepaint 🤩) I had the honor of painting a sunflower décolletage for Julie-Anne to match her gems and dress, and an eye design to match the blue rose bling selected by her mom, Lynn. These ladies were so wonderful and kind, and their energy put me at ease 😌 (@paintedexpressionsfacepaint and I had been gushing about Julie’s beauty and dresses since the day before 😻) @kacieinyourfacie (love that company name 😆) picked out the skull pop so I painted her as the goth queen she is 💜🖤👑🖤💜 we had an impromptu lesson where I shared some of my tips for painting roses and she was super thankful ☺️ the next morning she mentioned in class that she felt so beautiful in my face paint, and it just filled my heart 🥹🥰 The night ended with being introduced to Teresa Ines Pgrlc from @hummingbirdloveart and her sister Sara. Two gorgeous girls with amazing personalities to boot! I can’t wait to see y’all again at the @artfactoryus fest in September 💞💞💞 I know Teresa’s talent will help me level up my flower paintings (plus she has an awesome name lol 😆) Then as if the night couldn’t get any more delightful I spotted the cutest group of talented little fairies u ever did see! In terms of reading, I started off slow and then I completely finished the book in one sitting LOL but tbf there was a power outage. I could not put the book down which is always a good sign! about the book: it follows Addie Larue who made a deal with the devil, granting her immortality and freedom from her small village in France but in return she is forgotten. The story jumps between the 1700-1800s and 2014 which worked for the book. Personally, I enjoyed the chapters that happened in the present more but it was cool looking at the contrast between the two eras and how Addie fit between them. I also think that Addie as a character is enjoyable and I rooted for her victory. The repetition in this book did make it feel boring at times, specifically with the use of the word palimpsest which showed up so many times. While I wouldn’t categorize this book as romance, it definitely played a big part in the plot and relationships between the main characters. I feel like Henry and Addie’s romance was more because of the circumstances rather than a true connection, which is a bit sad and made the romance between Addie and Luc much more interesting. Also, a big part of Addie’s character is her seven freckles that are scattered across her face, mainly referred to as a constellation, but it was rarely mentioned. Finally, the ending was not satisfying to me and was totally open to the reader’s interpretation. I think if there was a proper ending, this book would have felt more balanced. Despite these shortcomings, I think that it was still a worthwhile read and the story itself was enjoyable and thought provoking. Though I definitely did enjoy it in the moment more than in retrospect.

(/s) last night at the fair was actually horrid i got into a big big misunderstanding with my friend and we did clear it up but i’m still really hurt and upset ☹️ But i saw one of my besties from elementary school that i haven’t seen since i went to a different school and it was so nice seeing her + i got into contact with another one of my besties 👍👍 i hope this week will be much better!
