Been playing with the rally van. Some twats been thrashing it and warped the brakes ๐Ÿ™„ So I put the discs in the lathe and re faced them just because I can, that and I'm tighter than ya mam. . . I'm looking at putting two piece floating discs and big calipers if I can find some to fit this. If no I'll make some fit. @frenchrentalkartchampionship 2023 Decided to return to @metzkartindoor for the second FRKC. 100 drivers this time and a lot tougher grid than last year. Kart draws necessarily didn't go my way, but some good qualifying performances and consistent pace allowed me to get some solid results. Heat 3 was a highlight, fighting for the win against some of the best drivers in the world, securing P3, and being the first Brit ever to step foot on the FRKC Podium! The semi-final didn't go to plan however I had a good battle with my good friend @ivanszana at the beginning. Just a shame Tom hid and then lost my medal ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ Heat 1: P9 Heat 2: P8 Heat 3: P3 ๐Ÿฅ‰ Heat 4: P11 (Drop Heat) Heat 5: P10 Semi-Final: P14 Overall: P45/100 A lot of positives to take this year, a semi-final on a tougher grid but also the way I drove, fast, calm, aggressive when I needed to be, choosing when to fight on track and not to. FULBECK SPRINT SERIES ROUND 8 SATURDAY: Tried a totally new setup, and a different brand of brake pads. Very quickly finding my feet and setting a new PB. SUNDAY: QUALI: P10/20 - Old tyres again but a time I was proud of after struggling in warm-up. Heat 1: I made a good start however I got loaded up from behind into the second chicane, sending me into a spin and inevitably into the barrier very hard. When checking over my kart, I very quickly realized the chassis had snapped in the crash. Heat 2: DNS Final: P19 (DNF) - With only 20 minutes left after getting the chassis welded, Everyone chipped in getting the kart put together just to get me to start the final, knowing the points loss for a DNS is greater than a DNF. Unfortunately, the tracking was out and the engine slid back causing my chain to drop. Championship: 5th Overall not the race day I wanted but that's the way it goes sometimes. Massive thanks to Ross and Luke for the welder and welding my chassis to get me back out for the Final. Max, Josh, and Dave for literally scrambling to put a kart back together in a ridiculous time frame. And also to the Club's COC's and Marshals this weekend.
