Was gifted this Martin Brodeur The Salute 30 Perfecto recently and with the NHL playoffs nearing, I figured time to spark it up. Cigar review no. 26 : @plasenciacigars Alma Del Fuego Concepcion which I picked up from @nextcigar The semi-closed foot added a touch of anticipation, and the sweet, fermented tobacco aroma with a hint of raisin set the stage for a luxurious smoke. The cold draw hinted at sweet tobacco and graham cracker notes, and as I lit up, the flavors danced on my tongue—roasted coffee, almond, and woody oak. The flawless burn continued into the first third, treating me to graham cracker and a touch of roasted marshmallow. In the second third, a slight hiccup with canoeing required a touch-up. Yet, walnuts, aniseed, and oakey wood took the spotlight, with a hint of medicinal notes. The final third surprised with a shift to leather, cedar, and sweet milk chocolate. Despite my desire to smoke it down to the nub, practicality won over burning fingers. Rating this cigar: Flavor - 79/100, Construction - 85/100, Value for Money - 75/100.
