All the buses coming at once this month. It is a veritable tailback. Almost decided to forego a ticket for this because I didn’t think I’d be in a fit state or, as usual, would likely have contracted cholera or something from planes and metros. But it was to be in Coughlan’s, which was reason enough and, true to form, it ended up being the best Villagers gig I’ve attended. The sound was crystal clear, you could hear every lyric, and the audience was rapt. I’d a lovely seat-mate. We spent a lot of time beforehand eulogising Coughlan’s, to the extent I thought she was a local, but she was a local from Kilworth. Well, that will happen. It’s just the nicest venue going. I was absolutely gutted when The Lobby closed its doors. I had so many memories of magical performances there, music hanging in the air before attentive audiences as the windows steamed up on winter nights and car lights mesmerised on the bridge below. I even liked that tickets for sale were stored in a beer glass behind the counter. Then Coughlan’s came along, expressly determined to fill the gap left - and did. Lord, do I ever appreciate that. Another announcement for Coughlans Live Music Fest '22. The return of Silent Disco. Sat 24th Sept. 10pm . FREE Silent Disco at The Nest at Coughlans, Incredibly fun and that little bit unusual. Silent Disco is a unique concept that does away with the traditional speaker systems used in nightclubs or festivals. Instead we give everyone a set of our wireless headphones that allows you switch between the three live DJs that are playing With three DJ’s playing simultaneously on three separate channels which means you only listen to the music that want you to hear! If you don’t like the song on one channel just flick the switch to another, let the battle of the DJ's commence!
