From watching my dad’s mother Anita lovingly layer each ingredient to my mother’s dedicated efforts in perfecting her own rendition, the kitchen became my sanctuary of flavors and memories. As a child, I’d sit at the kitchen table, textbooks scattered around me, while my sister and I marveled at the magic unfolding before our eyes. It wasn’t just about following a recipe; it was about infusing each layer with a piece of her soul. It was great to visit the @noningtonfarms today with Emma and James showing me around, what a beautiful place! I visited barns, mills and fields where their products grow to become delicious food/ingredients. Emma and I had a lovely conversation about the importance of cooking your food from scratch, cooking for people you love and using fresh ingredients, traveling and the evolution of food, especially pasta, in the last century. It was also great to see their mill and have Emma show me the flour making process.
