International Thunderbirds are go. Troops from all over the world gather like migrating flamingos at the pool table. Im born the same day as all of them, I guess, but I donโt feel the same age as The Grouch - I could definitely have been in the same school class as Bert n Ernie. Wayne is one of the people behind the Genesis raves which took place from 1988 onwards in London. Genesis is textbook stuff and one of the blueprint parties which showed the methods to thousands of others. Commended by Ken Tappenden, the Met officer in charge of shutting down the raves, the organisational skills were beyond anything the police could keep up with..Wayne and Ken have done a few talks together and are respected friends these days. Check out Wayne's book , "Class of 88" It's the best book on UK acid house culture I have read and inspired the Maltese mentioned in Harry's Kebabs . Wow. Hereโs a fascinating post shared to me by Adrian down there in the north of England. I say down there because I am currently at home in Aberdeen. More of that later. These shoes are the Adidas Yabisah Pikes. Theyโre resplendent next to my book and Iโm gony cop a pair tmrw. Clearly the colour scheme is related to the pool and the sandstone walls. They donโt have pikes written on them but now Iโve got my head around it, I think thatโs a good thing. Too many people use the name that have nothing or very little to do with this magical place which provides us with both work and pleasure.. If you donโt live on the island youโre not a resident at Pikes and you have no business using the name. But I digress. These shoes and pic are fly, like Pikes. Iโll pick these up and wear them to Pittodrie on the 27th for our match with Motherwell. I know a bunch of the Well lads are on this page and have supported my writing.
