Turbo oil pressure! This is quite often overlooked and many (us included) rely on a simple inline restrictor rather than an ecu monitored regulator. We plan to fit an oil pressure sensor wired back to the Syvecs Ltd S12 ecu with a warning/limp/kill calibration to protect the turbo. As part of the winter update on the Legacy we decided that 800bhp is just not enough. A chat with AET Turbos top dog Andy and we have a solution. The turbo is essentially the same base as we have been using for the last three years but with a bigger front cover and an updated wheel. The hope is that spool will be improved and a smidge more top end power once our mapping guru Paul has worked his magic. As always we will be running the car on Nimbus Motorsport supplied Torco Race Fuels MUK/FIA approved MF102 pump fuel. Is there such a thing as too much power? Just over 3 years ago we made one of the most significant improvements to the Legacy since it was first built. Installing the Xona Rotor turbocharger from AET Turbos transformed the car into an absolute weapon. Power levels jumped significantly but the way in which it was delivered totally changed the characteristics of the Legacy. The entire power band was so useable. With mapping guru Paul Blamire on board we have been able to really push the turbo to its limit and now it’s time for some improvements. The team at Xona By AET will work their magic on the turbo to give us an even better response and maybe a smidge more power for 2023. There is lots happening at Team Legacy HQ as we push to get the car ready to be displayed on the Samsonas Motorsport and Euro M-Sport stand at the 2023 Autosport International Show. That’s a wrap… As our 2022 race season comes to a close we are already into removing the Mike Latimer built race engine. The engine has done incredibly well over the last three years of competition and still doesn’t miss a beat but it’s time for this one to be refreshed.
