Hey y’all! Since it’s been a while (years, maybe?) since I last showed my face on here, I thought it’d might be a good time to reintroduce myself. My name is Courtney and I am a wedding photographer based in the Kansas City area (Kansas City, Kansas to be exact). I received my degree in History from the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk Jayhawk!) so you could say wedding photography is my creative way of utilizing my degree. 😊 I absolutely love being able to take part in one of the most important days of my clients’ lives and document their moments for them and their loved ones to enjoy for years to come. My friends all say I’m a really random person, so in the spirit of randomness, here’s some random facts about me: 1. I named my wedding photography business after my great-grandma, Eliza Jane. 2. I photographed my first wedding in 2010! So I’ve definitely been doing this for a while (13 nearly 14 years pass quickly) 3. I recently moved back to the Kansas City area! In the last ten years, I have lived in LA and grew my wedding photography business there, lived in London volunteering with my church, and I lived in Seoul, teaching English to some of the most adorable 3 and 4 year olds. 4. As you can see, I really love traveling. I’ve lived in two countries outside of the US (UK, South Korea) and have traveled to 23 countries. I’ve pretty much liked all of the countries I’ve traveled to, but Portugal, Italy, India, and Norway were my faves 5. I’ve been on two game shows—25 words or less and split second. Well hello there people of Instagram! It has been almost a year since I’ve been active on this account. There have been a lot of changes in my life since the beginning of 2021 so I haven’t been photographing weddings and engagements. If you’ve contacted me directly, then you know the reason why. I struggled with a lot of depression and anxiety during much of this pregnancy, not COVID related, but I continued to trust God and get support from my friends and family. I also have the best husband in the world. Pregnancy hormones are no joke and give you all sorts of feelings and gas lol.
