We are excited to have Sue Fey along for the Shunpike! She will be showing her work at 397 Stonehurst Road along with @wildsailorgirl. Unfortunately unable to be here in person, we promise her works speaks volumes! ‘I learned to paint way back in the 1900’s and found my way back to it after retiring from a 30 year career in graphic and video design. Oil and cold wax was not a thing in the 1900’s, but it captured my creative focus in 2017. Lately, I have been combining textures and compositions from my oil paintings with iPhone photography, creating digital fusions I call ‘Pairings’. I think of all abstract expression as a kind of subconscious reckoning with the surprising collection of certainties and uncertainties that make each of us unique, remarkable and beautifully human. I have been drawn, unaccountably, to coastlines and little wooden boats since I was a child. Echos of these embedded influences exist in my work, regardless of my conscious intention. I’m happy about that. She practiced Massage and Acupuncture for over two decades with much love and enthusiasm until the time came to shift gears. A chronic renovator, DIYer and lover of all things cozy cottage. Liz loves to create spaces that feel loved and lived while being surrounded by long horizons, large skies, any water and all nature.
