⚖️ During the Libra season I thought a lot about The Tower and Judgement cards, but especially about Justice - and specifically from the point of “fairness” and privilege. I’ve also been mulling over the notion of “truth” in the same context. So when I just now remembered that I actually painted this Justice card recently, prior to my recent thoughts, I felt compelled to post about it. 🤨 I (currently) think that: ⚖️ fairness is a constantly shifting concept. ⚖️ privilege, culture and much more play into what’s considered fair and just. And it varies from person to person. ⚖️ what’s fair has largely been dictated by white, old men - and that must change ⚖️ time and our human evolution and experience has a way to change views on what’s fair. ⚖️ Truth is also a drastically shifting concept ⚖️ there’s no such a thing as absolute truth, not even science ⚖️ truth change from one moment to the other. Yesterday’s truth may not be what we think is true today ⚖️ the Justice card, in addition to being about balance, discernment and fairness, also has the power, imho, to reveal hidden truths, just like Art does. There’s certainly no right or wrong (true/false), and, especially coming from privilege myself, I don’t claim to have any ultimate answers. Just opinions.
