18th C English stippled engraving (after Cosway) of Mrs. Jackson, published April 1, 1794 by John Condé ( British, born in France) with coloured details depicting Mrs Jackson. She was famous for stage work with Kemble, Barrymore and other famous actors. Mrs Jackson was extremely popular of the Georgian period and pictured in other Cosway paintings as well. Condé is considered one of the most famous engravers of all time. He excelled at stippling engravings, mostly a small dotting technique, very time consuming.
